I went to my local walgreens tonight to hit up the softsoap deal. Bought my first one and printed the free one. i thought...yes, finally something easy. So, i went put that in the car and went back in and grabbed another SS. Anyway, the coupon beeped...of course. The assitant manager came by typed things in and the cashier said..you're total will be .27 cents. WHAT?! what happened to "Free" then the asstant manager proceeded to tell me that they can't control taxes. WHATEVER..4.xx for 2 things of soap isn't the best but i had a 6 year old, impatient hubby, and crying 7 month old in the car so i just left. But you better believe walgreens got an email from me tonight. grrr...i'm so fed up with trying these deals with walgreens. i think i'll stick to CVS where they encourage my couponing and in fact the ladies there always huddle the cash register to see my final total.
OHH! and to top it off...my second SS didn't print another coupon because of the override. :-(

we pay taxes on pre-coupon prices here. Thats about how much I pay for each one i got
Hmmmm...it's been my understanding for a very long time now that you have to pay tax on non-food items. Right?
Ok yeah taxes suck but its all part of it. Unless you live in a state with no sales tax, you're stuck with it....
Also, the RR for the Softsoap stopped rolling around 2 or 3 pm.
The coupon beeps for the cashier to enter in the price of the softsoap, so that is normal. Also, you no longer receive a free RR when you use one to buy the softsoap. It doesn't roll any more  So, it looks like your transaction actually went exactly as it should have :shrug7:
ok...then my misunderstanding then. I guess i was niave to think free meant free. ohwell...also, i didn't know that they stopped rolling around 2.
ohwell...i'm sorry. total misunderstanding.

Where are the DEALS!?
One each of Walmart, Wags, HyVee, Aldis, DG, DT County Market NO doubles/triples
You know what's interesting-- I live in TX (a sales tax state) and none of my free Softsoaps required a tax amount due.
I even asked about it, assuming I would need to pay tax, but each time they told me my total was Zero-- I wonder why??
