re: DEAD: Walgreens April Easy Saver 3/29-4/25 (Full Ad Scans Post #3) I had a very unpleasant experience today at my local Walgreens over the ink cartridge refill rebate. To make a long story short, I took an ink cartridge in to be refilled. The photo person refilled it and my receipt said "photo finishing" or "photo processing." I'm not sure which because I don't have the receipt. I asked for a receipt that said "ink cartridge refill" or something like that. The Executive Asst. Store Mgr. told me there was no way to do that. He was horribly rude to me when I told him the receipt I got in December said "Inkjet Refill." He treated me like dirt. I told him to just refund my money, which he did. I asked for my cartridge back. He refused to give it to me because it had been refilled. I told him to "evacuate" the cartridge and give it back to me. He said there was no way to do that, which is not true. I left and went to another Walgreens and talked to the asst. mgr. about what happened to me at the other store. She called the EasySaver people and they told her that receipts that say "photo processing" or "photo finishing" will not be honored for the ink cartridge refill rebate even if the store gives the customer something verifying that the receipt is for an ink cartridge refill. The photo person called the other store and told them to "evacuate" my cartridge and return it to me. They said they would. I went there and had to deal with the same mgr. that was so rude to me. He handed me my cartridge and a receipt for $0 that says, surprise, "inkjet refill." This from the guy that said there's no way to do that!!!
There's a lot more to this story but I have tried to net it out. I trade at this particular Walgreens a lot and I have never experienced such rude treatment. One of the "cool" store clerks was standing right there when the asst. mgr. treated me link dirt. She said I should definitely call corporate about the way I was treated. She said the asst. mgr. was definitely out of line but she couldn't speak up because he's a manager.
I hope those of you who want to do the ink cartridge refill rebate deal are able to get a receipt that will enable you to get the rebate. And I certainly hope you are not treated the way I was treated if you ask for a proper receipt. |
