Walgreens Buy 4 Select Dove Products get $2, Buy 6 get $6, Buy 8 Get $10 -- 3/01/09 - 3/28/09

I have a couple of really nice managers at my Wag's and one not as nice manager. Just so happens the not as nice manager was working today, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask him to take the Dove coupon even though it wasn't in our region's ad.

He said if it was in the system, he would take it, so he went to check on it. It wasn't in the system, but he said since he trusts me (I'm one of those that ALWAYS flies under the radar as far as coupons and RR goes and they all totally know who I am) he would price modify them this one time but I was limited to the quantity of three.

They only had two on the shelf, so I took those. As luck would have it, they had exactly six of the trial size deodorants, so I took all of them. I didn't try for the Reach toothbrushes because that in-ad coupon wasn't in my ad, either. All of the free after RR deals that were not listed in my ad were not marked on sale, so I didn't try any of them. The Colgate RR deal was listed in my ad, and wouldn't you know they had a flavor of that toothpaste listed for 1/2 price at $1.74 so I took three of them (one of the ways I fly under the radar is not to do more than 2-3 transactions at a time).

When I went to checkout, I asked the cashier if we could do a trial run of the toothpaste to see if the RR would print out, and she said sure. $1.74-.75 q = $1.11 out of pocket, but I got the full $3.50 back in a RR. Great money maker! So I did that again in a transaction with a box of Kleenex for which I had a get one free catalina from a purchase last month. Then again with my Dove products. I got the two Dove soaps price modified to .99 each, and used three $1.50/2 man q's for the deodorants which were also .99 each.

My totals:
Two Dove soaps = 2x.99 = 1.98
Six Dove trial deodorants = 6x.99 - 3(1.50/2) man q's = 1.44
Three Colgate toothpastes = 3x1.74 - 3(.75) man q's = 2.97
One box Kleenex = 1.99 - 1.99 catalina = 0.00

Out of pocket for everything = $6.82 (I never roll my RR - another radar technique) and I got back $10 Dove catalina and 3 $3.50 Colgate catalinas, so I definitely made some bucks when all was said and done.

So how many of your stores are SOLD OUT of trial deos and single bar soaps? MINE...
I really appreciate whoever found out we could get a RR w/trials!!!

However, now that the trials have printed the RRs how many stores will have the CAT machine "reprogrammed" so we don't get them on trials??? Can they do that? When I was at one store the beauty advisor hesitated in scanning the $1.50/2 coupon but went ahead, then when the $10 RR came out she raised an eyebrow! I wonder if she "alerted" her manager and the managers of the other stores??? Be on the look out for this coupon queen...you know who she is?!!!

This lady is so nice when I talk to her but the moment I turn around, jab!!! Anyone else experience this???

Which toothpaste is this?

mom2fiveaz, it was the Colgate 6.0 ounce MaxFresh with mini breath strips in 'clean mint' flavor. There's another Wag's a couple more miles from my home that I have visited in the past, and it doesn't always have the same clearanced items that my regular Wag's has, so I don't know if they're all on clearance or not. I'm in Utah, if that helps.

Oh man, I saw that toothpaste marked down at my store today too. I started to grab it, but it didn't have the tag with it that advertised the RR, so I wasn't sure if it would print and got the regular priced one instead. Oh well, gives me another excuse to go back this week.

Mine too, now... Well, there were 10 of the trial deos on the shelf and I only grabbed 8, so there are 2 left.

I bought 6 of the trial size deods that's all they had and did not get the RR and the machine was working because I got 2 other ones. Did not return them because I paid very little out of pocket because of overage from Mylanta and Sambouca.

I made my Walgreens trip last night and pretty pleased with myself. I know it's prolly not as good as some but I'll take it! Here's the short version-I had 9 transactions and a very nice cashier.

I used all my RR in the same visit-I'm always afraid I'll forget them.
Not as good as some but I'll take it and just try to better next time.
