HAPPY DANCE Walgreens: Almost refused to give $25.00 gift card for transfered Prescription

I decided after getting super slow service from one pharmacy, to transfer to Walgreens. To transfer ALL of my prescriptions, really, for my whole faimly, being a total of 5 scripts. I had 5 coupons for the gift cards if I transferred. The clerk proceeded to give me total. Before she even rang it in, I told her that I wanted each one in a separate transaction- because I was making purchases for other people, and had a coupon that I wanted to use "for each transaction"... (Coupon said "one coupon per customer, per transaction".) They insisted they could not give me more than one gift card. I asked them to get mgr, and they sent an assistant, who in turn called the stores main manager. He finally gave me the cards for each "transaction", but had gone through the whole rigaromo about how I was stealing from Walgreens, and this kind of thing would be making his store appear to be participating in coupon fraud.

What do you think?

Please know that I specifically asked before I called in the transfer, and they told me it would be fine, that I could do the purchases in separate transactions............. Argh, don't understand folks left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing!

They could argue the one per customer angle. Personally, I would have transferred them one or two at a time... or call the pharmacy department beforehand to make sure they'll know you're coming and they are going to issue your coupons. I'm sure it's painful for any manager to hand over $125. LOL. But fraudulent?? No.

I had the coupon for the $25GC that expired the 15th...when I went and transfered my second and third RX I forgot to split the transactions. First they tried to tell me that they only could do one every 6 months. I DO Realize I should have transfered them seperately and that was my error, BUT Their excuse was wrong... They have since changed the wording on the Q to say one per customer per 6 months. I still have husbands RX that can be transfered, but golly he doesn't need more Allergra D, I have already refilled it twice and he didn't need it refilled at all.

Were the five prescriptions in five different names? It would seem that the "customer" is the person who's name is on the prescription; you're just the person picking them up.

I actually did two of these deals with the coupons expiring 2/15. I just had each Rx sent to a different Wags though. I already know what kind of attitude I would've gotten had I tried both at the same store.

You were mighty brave to do 5 at once! And you had every right according to the wording. I just get tired of letting them get me riled up, so I just split my Rx's up by about 5 miles.

I would have told them you will be more than willing to transfer them to RA where they proudly advertise "up to $100 in savings when you transfer your scripts" granted thats 4 not 5 but they have no issue with doing them all at once, my mom does 2-3 when she remembers all the time.
