There was a link somewhere in this forum that a I believe an Ohio reporter wrote. It has questions and then the answers given by customer service. I carry around a copy of it just in case. It states to adjust the coupon down. If I'm not getting overage I prefer this way because the other way increases the tax.
You might try emailing corporate and just asking about coupon usage without going into detail about your particular store. This way you have a copy addressed to you and the name from customer service for verification. | Thank you very much. I think I still got an alright deal at $2.24, but was really only getting them because I thought they would be free.
Thanks for the advice, I think I will stop back in just to see what the manager says.

If you had gotten another pkg, you could have used all three qs.

| Re: Have a Walgreens Question? Ask it here Hey, I have a question that's been bugging me and I just thought to post it.
What's the deal with Walgreens cashiers saying they aren't supposed to scan items for price checks? It's this huge deal in my store. If I ask at the front register, I'm always directed to the cosmetics counter (doesn't matter what the item is) and then the BA gets really antsy and always, always, always says something about how they're not supposed to do that. It's happened with several different cashiers. No one wants to price check anything and they suggest that if something doesn't ring up right, I just complete the transaction and then return it. What's up with this? |

And also you don't need a card to get rr am I correct? | No card needed (at least for now, but that could change at some point). The RRs expire 2 weeks from the date they print.

What's up with this? | :shrug7:Are they actually ringing the item into the register? then having to void the transaction? Sounds a little odd to me and that's the only thing I could think of. They do have the ability to do a price check and not actually enter the item into the register.
Also, if this is something that is a continuous problem (prices not marked, etc.), try speaking with the SM to see what's up. However, if you're just trying to see if something's on clearance that you've read about online, maybe they're just suspicious. Personally, I'd ask to speak with someone to see what the problem is, but that's just me I guess. Then, fly under the radar if they're acting suspicious. As long as I'm doing what's right, I don't care how weird people behave, kwim?

| Re: Have a Walgreens Question? Ask it here What's really odd is that a couple of the BAs are people I've become really acquainted with and we get along well. They are always really pleasant to deal with and have done all sorts of above and beyond things if a deal isn't working right or as advertised. I don't think they really suspect me of some misdeed, but are instead somehow misinformed. Same thing at the front register, though I'm less acquainted with them since I generally check out at cosmetics anyway. Sometimes it's a matter of checking a clearance item or something that just isn't marked at all, but no matter who I ask, I get this look of panic and a comment about how they really aren't supposed to scan items for price checks. It's the most bizarre thing and seems to be storewide since my request for price scans has them all recoiling in horror. I probably should ask a manager, but I really hate to seem like I'm going over their heads since they're always so nice to me there, you know? While it would be great if the manager could clear up that little problem, I'd hate for it to turn into something they get kind of chewed out for or that it would be handled like a complaint.
So I take it this is not a common issue and that my store is apparently misinterpreting something? |

| Re: Have a Walgreens Question? Ask it here I've never heard of such an issue before. Sounds really strange to me. I kinda feel sorry for the cashiers if their manager has them so afraid, kwim?

| Re: Have a Walgreens Question? Ask it here Checking the price of an item at a register is called price verifying, if a cashier does alot of price verifys at their register it shows up on a report. That may be the reason some cashiers are reluctant to do price verifys. It is a loss prevention issue
