Is Walgreens not allowing Black & White internet printed coupons any longer, or is just up to the store manager?

Today, I tried to purchase 2 packs of Huggies Diapers & use 2 of the $3.00 IP coupons. I had 2 printable coupons, one I had printed in color & the other in black. The beauty dept cashier accepted the color one fine, but called the manager to ask about the black printed coupon. He looked at it & stated the printable coupons had to have watermarks on each of them; therefore refusing to accept the coupon. I explained that the coupons have different dot-scan codes & numbers...and it wasn't a copy...I just printed it in black ink only. (Farmington, MO store)

So, I checked my other IP coupons & none of them have "watermarks".
Are all IP coupons supposed to have the watermarks? If so, how can I change my printer settings to do this? I just don't like to waste my color ink, that's why I mostly print IP coupons in Black ink.

    Thanks for any help!

brandyinmissouri, it's completely up to the store manager to accept or deny IP coupons. Many won't even accept them when printed in color these days, due to all the fraudulent IPs people have been passing around. I would recommend speaking directly with the store manager at your local store and asking him exactly what his rules are for accepting IP coupons. Also, take the IPs that you have and ask him to explain to you what a watermark looks like (since none of the ones you have seem to have a watermark). Maybe he will see that this "watermark" rule may not be accurate for all IP coupons.
Another thing I've done in areas where IPs are troublesome is to keep the entire printed page, with the link/site where they were printed, so that the SM could verify them if necessary. I only did that once or twice and they decided that I was using legitimate IPs and didn't "need" to see the entire sheet. I'm assuming that is because it held up the line while I cut them out to redeem. LOL.
If you can't get the information you need from the SM, try calling the district office and speak with the district manager. The number should be in your local phone book, listed with all the other Walgreens stores.

I'll have to follow your advice & find out the exact details for IP coupon usage. The manager who refused the IP today stated that only IP coupons with the watermarks are acceptable. The coupon scanned just fine as it should, but I guess the black printable coupon being used with a color printed coupon looked odd to the cashier. She voided the coupon & only accepted the color printed one. I took the black IP to Walmart & used it just fine. The manager did tell me to try & print it again in color...but since it was from coupons.com there is a limit of only 2 to print.
This is my first time being not allowed to use an IP coupon at Walgreens.

Thanks again for the helpful response, I really appreciate it.
