    Default Cashier vent

There is a cashier at the WAGs up the road from me and he is the reason I try to shop at other ones. He really made me feel like I was stealing yesterday and in front of a lot of people. I had 6 BOGO Soyjoy coupons, was hanging on to them to see if they went BOGO somewhere cuz I didn’t want to pay for them in case I didn’t like them…WAGs has them BOGO this week! So I got 12…he did not want to take the coupons. He told me that they were already BOGO and he could not accept a BOGO coupon on a BOGO deal. I told him that I was only using 6 coupons, on the 6 that I was ‘paying for’. He said no can do. I tried to explain that WAGs was paying for 6 with their BOGO but that the manufacturer would reimburse them the cost of the other 6 so “WAGs” was not “giving me 12 free bars”. He still refused to take them so I asked him to call the manager. He sighed very deeply and called her and told her that I was trying to use a BOGO on a BOGO and the manager asked how many coupons, he said 6. She asked how many was I buying and he said 12. She told him to take the coupons and he said, very much upset – but that’s not right, she gets 12 FREE! And she said, yes…she does…so he begrudgingly took the coupons. I told him to just take them all off the bill and I’d go to another store that did not give me such a hard time, make me feel like I was stealing and embarrass me in front of my neighbors. He ignored me and kept scanning the coupons…I was getting dirty looks and the gal behind me announced that she worked at Target and could “understand how he felt” because people “try the same thing there too”.
OK, thanks for letting me vent.
BTW, hubby had one for breakfast and said it was ‘not bad’ but was ‘dry’. I have not tried them yet…

Soyjoy....Crumble them up and put pudding or jello on top. Dh likes them that way. I keep wanting to put them as a pie crust on my cheese cake. LOL my mom loves them and they never last to try them as a crust.

    OP,
The cashiers and managers that give us a hard time are either jealous of our deals, lazy and don't want to scan the coupons, or are just mean and hate the world.
Don't take it to heart and go to a better store. There are so many managers and cashiers that think we are awesome. Those are the stores I try to go to. Coupon usage shouldn't make you feel bad.

I was a cashier at Target for a little bit, and also had an issue with the BOGO.
I called my supervisor over and she cleared that the BOGO was quite alright to process.

I'm sorry you were inconvenienced :/

The WAGs that is not up the road from me…the gal in the cosmetics department ROCKS. She LOVES her job and LOVES seeing people spend their money smartly. And she knows her stuff too. That is the one I prefer to go to but traffic is an issue and I hate to waste gas. And it is not just her that is super nice and easy to get along with – the managers and other cashiers seem to be pretty nice and easy going too. The only problem with that one is that it seems there are other couponers that recognize a good store when they see one – this store gets its shelves cleared faster than I can think some times, so on top of the traffic and gas issue, many times I find that what I want is not in stock…

I hope you call that store & tell the manager why you walked out without getting them. The manager was fine with it, but the employee, who is supposed to do as they say, treated you like trash & that's not okay!

I went to Wags when it was Loreal Vive BOGO and I had BOGO Q. The first one I went to the cashier said no, then the manager came over and told me that I had to get 4 to use ONE bogo coupon (so I would still be paying for one). I will NOT pay for shampoo when I know I can get for free.
I have learned it isn't worth the hassle (unless I am in the mood of course) and say "fine, I don't want them" take my coupons and leave. There is always going to be another deal somewhere else with little to no hassle involved.

It does bother me when I know full well they are going to be paid for the coupon and paid for the deal in the store.

I wasn't aware that Target did BOGO sales. I guess I haven't shopped there in a while.

sometimes that is not always possible

up until last August the state of Maine had ONE, 1, only one Walgreens. The second nearest CVS was 45 min away

sometimes you HAVE to learn to deal with bad and incorrect policies, you make phone calls and you run in circles, you get mad, you give in.

Yep, been there, done that, and still do that. It's so hard to shop when it's bad cashiers and managers. I would drive the other way so I didn't have the really bad mean cashiers.

I still live those days of having to make my driving for the deals worth my time.
I have to drive 45 to 60 min each way just so I can shop cvs, target, winn dixie, publix and wags.
LOL, the managers and cashiers decide for me whether I head east or west to shop.
After this summer I now have one wags 10 minutes from me. In the beginning they weren't coupon friendly and enforced the limits. Made up their own rules, not very nice employees, some acted like they were doing me a favor to take my coupons. I quit going.
A couple of months ago I shopped there and it was like a new store...lol, from when they opened the store.
FINALLY a good store and it's close enough to me I could walk.
I converted many of them to coupon users and now it's hard for me to get my deals. Lucky for me, an ok deal is what they hunt.
I won't pay for toothpaste or shampoo. I hunt frees or mm.
So as long as I go the night before (sat after 8) or early sun(for rr), I do ok.

I live on rain checks now.

I had the same problem with my Walgreens. It was within walking distance to my house. I was as nice as I could be for as long as I could be. I had no choice but to shop at that Walgreens. So what I did is everytime I went there I would look for a nice cashier. There are usually 3 working. I have the one I like, my second choice, and H___ no. I normally like to check out in cosmetics, since I have space to put everything down and sort it all through without the pressure of people in line behind me. Every time I had a very good or very bad experience, I would look at the name tag of the person. I would then go home and write a note to Walgreen's customer service. I had some very good experiences and some very bad, but I am positive that the manager's got the feedback because over six months, lots of things changed. For one, after training the cashiers myself on "their" policy, things are much smoother. I realize that the managers can make decisions yay or nay, I simply ask what their decision is and I go with it. I do not argue with them, I want to live another day. I do write positive and negative feedback and I do call their 1-800 on the bottom of the receipt to give feedback. Last night when I scored 100 bags of kisses - I gave my favorite cashier 5. I told her she had been nice enough to put up with me all year and she deserved more than that. When I have extra coupons for things I know I am not going to use I usually slide them to her. I know she gets some stuff free. So, my experience is to reward the good cashiers and to leave bad feedback for cashiers who are a PITA. The cashiers who love me are worth going back to the store. Hope this helps.
