Walgreens DIMETAPP / ROBITUSSIN – Giving $20.00 RRs instead of $10.00 RRs

If I get rain checks when they're out, does that mean I get a rain check for the RR, too?

How does that work?

Here is my experience when a Walgreens' sale item involves Register Rewards and I have to ask for a raincheck ...

You have to fight like tooth and nail to get a 'vaild' raincheck.

You want to be dealing with the manager on duty for best results.

Make it perfectly clear that you want a raincheck that includes / incorporates the RRs.

This has to be written on that tiny Walgreens' raincheck.

Many times what they do is treat the RRs earned like money by subtracting it from the sale price of the item(s).

$20.00 (five a $4.00 each) - $10.00 RR = $10.00 purchase price when the raincheck is redeemed

This is done because RRs do not print out after the week that the RR offer is made.

Another thing that I always do when it comes to obtaining a raincheck is I tape the item's illustration from the store flyer.

This is a most excellent form of documentation as to what items are on sale and the amount of the RR.

I did this deal today..5 robis for $11 and some change after coupons...got back 20 in RR then used the $10 RR to buy 3 pepsi's, the fee Mountain Due and 2 bags of clearenced kisses as fillers and spent 60 cents out of pocket...not too shabby..I am thinking of blowing the other RR'S on a ped egg....

TY! I got this tonight in IA and I wasn't going to buy anything there this week! I got 1 Robitussin and 4 Dimetapp with the IP Qs, plus the Dawn with the store Q & Mfg Q all for $11.98 . Then the guy handed me the RR and was like "$10, $15, $20...You got back more then you spent!" and I just said thanks and hurried on my way!

Just worked for me - after a mad dash to WAGS.

Bought 5 Robitussin. Out came one $5 RR, then a long, agonizing pause, then another $5 RR, then another long, agonizing pause, and then the $10 RR. Ahhh, Merry Christmas!

Awesome deal! I got all the RR. I also tried getting two progresso soups with two $1.10/1 coupons because I had a raincheck. The second coupon beeped, and she would not adjust the coupon. I am not sure why it beeped because I had enough for the overage. Anyways, I had her take off the soups. I will try again at my favorite Walgreens.

Worked for me and I got the clearance Coty so the overage paid for most of my order. Paid $1.98 OOP and got back $20.
