Walgreens question, need help, RR not working

I'll try and make this short. I got my free colgate yesterday with the 3.50 RR. I went to another store later in the day and thought, why not, I'll get another toothpaste. I really should have known better, I'm only six months into this....but I asked the cashier, "I got this RR earlier on the colgate, if I use it for these purchases, one of which was colgate, will my new RR print." She said YES, I asked again, just to double check, something inside me said don't do it, but I did and guess what!! No RR, so I said, great, that is why I asked, I don't want it. Well, everyone was nice, the manager came over, gave my money back and even dished my coupons and RR out and gave them back. Basically, returned everything and started over, without the colgate. And, I was so confused I didn't try and use the RR, I just paid and left.

Well, I went to Walgreens this morning for this weeks deals, tried to use the 3.50 RR and it would not work. So after all that, THIS IS THE QUESTION:

Did my RR not work because it was already scanned at the other store? I did not go into that with this Walgreens, the message they got was MQ's limit reached. I did use a coupon for everything I purchased, but my total was $8, I thought RR were like $$. So, I don't know what to do. The manager kept telling me that the machine keeps up with q's and you can only use so many and i should have used the 3.50 RR before my other q's. I never do it that way and never had a problem. Is there really a limit on q's? did it not work because it was already scanned at another store? and is there anything i can do about this? count it as a lesson learned? talk to the store that gave it back to me? or try and use it again and see if it works?

I am so sorry this is so long, I'm so upset.....in hind sight, i can't believe they gave all my q's back, I just got so flustered! And I feel like I'm out 3.50!! It's eating me up.

It would not work because you cannot have more coupons then items. You needed to pick up a small filler like a pencil or the small packages of tissue. The register would not take it because as you stated, you already used a coupon for everything so it did not have an item to attach itself to.

Sorry you had such a rough time... if you used a coupon on every item in your order then the RR wouldn't go through, you'd need a small filler... RR's count as manufacturer coupons.. so it reads as if you are using 2 coupons on 1 item.. next time just grab a 10 cent pencil or something and it will go right through.. ;)

Oh and no, if you use an RR on the same deal (as in the Colgate on Colgate) it won't print another one.. HTH ;)

Sorry for your confusion.....
#1...you can not roll the RR's (in other words use them for the same deals). You would need to use the Colgate RR for something other than Colgate products.
#2 You need more products than coupons...RR are considered couponms even though you can use them to get your OOP lower. So next time try buying a small filler without a coupon for it and it should work. For example...if you buy 9 products...only use 8 coupons.
