How do you go about pre-ordering mdse? Do you talk to the Mgr? Have you ever been told NO. Do you have to put down a deposit?
Please share your experiences. Thanks!
Howdy from Texas!
Yup. Talk to a manager -typically the head store manager as they need to O.K. it. After that I go through whomever.
I, and a few other members from my area have been told no by one store manager in particular. Or, even better, one time he DID order and then he wouldn't see it to my friend. Nice huh? The next time he said he would do it for us. The truck day came and went and my friend went in to pick up our stuff. He wasn't there but the AM on duty said he never even put our order in.
The guy is a J-E-R-K.
I go through the same store all the time and avoid the store with the jerk manager.

I've been debating doing the same thing just to ease the hassle of having to go to multiple stores to find everything I want. Plus I have one store I really love and would prefer to give my business to them anyway. However, I'm wondering the same thing as to what you all consider a "huge" amount, LOL.
Kind of OT, but I'm from TX too (Dallas.)
I did my first order with the wisp flameless candles. I ordered quite a few. DH stood there and did each one seperately so we could get the RR. It worked nicely because most of the time they are out of the stock to make the deals work. So I have tons of rain checks and by the time I actually find the items my coupons expire a lot of times. We only have one store in our town and a number of couponers. Plus our wonderful employees do the deals also. I ordered some other things this week as a number of items such as toothpaste are out. The employees are wonderful about it. It means more profit for their store. Unfortunately I don't usually get working on the deals until the week of, so can't really order ahead. It was a fluke I had seen the wisps ahead of time, I hit the wrong button and there they were staring me in the face so I had to order them....![]()
I have 5 WAG stores. I have had issues w/a particular item for YEARS!! so I have tried this at 3 last time it was on sale. Two outright told me NO; explaining that they had checked previous sales records on the item and only sold 25. Yea. Right. When I asked how many rainchecks wre written mgr had NO CLUE as the "computer does not track that!!!"
Third store told me he had ordered plenty. RIGHT. 1st day of sale he was out by noon & then warehouse shorted him on his Fri delivery.
I called the manager today, introduced myself as "the coupon lady" He laughed, said "hi, what can I do for you this time?" I explained that I was concerned about clearing the shelf next week with the st. ives and that I wanted to get 14 of them. I asked if I could special order, he said he'd "try it and see" A few minutes later he called back asking what flavors (lol) I wanted, or if I wanted to mix and match. It was great! I think I'll start doing this, if all works out well.

I tried to pre order (and forewarn a manager) the wisp candles last week. I told her that I knew they were going to be a really good deal and that I was sure that I wouldnt be the only customer looking for these. She told me and I quote..."we have some on the shelf now and I KNOW the warehouse won't send that many more".Needless to say, the 4 that were on the shelf that night were long gone by midday on the day the sale started! I never saw them in stock the rest of the week. At least I tried!:shrug7: Maybe she will listen to me next time! HA...yeah right!
Pre ordering is the BEST thing I have ever done. I have ordered very large amounts and very low amounts. Manager loves the sales and I LOVE being able to walk in the store, get my crap without touching a shelf and not having to play the "lets make 1000 trips game."
