    Default gaah WAG bad trip!

So we have one walgreen's and one RA in our town. The nearest alternate walgreen's is 30 minutes in another town. MY walgreen's is 30 minutes one way from my house, so I plan one trip a week due to the horrid gas expense. I've usually had very good encounters at my store, have even emailed praise. But today was awful!:frown: THis may be long lol, I've gotta rant!

It all started with the pert. They had like 35 bottles. I had 24 coupons, and so I loaded up. Remember, pert is not on sale and I still left 11 bottles on the shelf. PLENTY to last one week in a town of 12,000 with five other alternate stores. I go to check out and the BA says "I can only let you check out four today" I asked why, explained I'd always gotten more than four of a product at a time, and never had a problem before. She gives me the speech about leaving some for other customers, which I told her I did, blah blah blah. She sends me to weekend manager. Manager explains the same thing, and I tell her that I've always done it, etc etc without complaint. I'm not one to wipe out the shelves. I always leave at least a few. She looks at me oddly and says "you've done it in this store?" Me: "yes. many times." Her: "huh, well that's walgreen's policy"
So I go to put the pert back (was getting overage anyway!) and then notice my 10 lindt bars. I REALLY need these for a gift. I ask another manager that walks by about the policy, he agrees with it, and I ask him if I can still do the bars, as there are plenty left and it's the last day of the sale. (I mean, come on! On big sales like this I'm sure they don't limit other customers to 4!!!) He let me, but was kind of rude about it.

I go back to BA, she's ringing me up and tells me how they have to do it that way because "there's this lady that has tons and tons of coupons each time she comes in, and if something is on sale she buys LOTS of it. Someone said she has an uncle who works for a recycling company and we think she resells it on ebay...it's basically coupon fraud" I didn't even push her, nor explain that just because "this lady" buys a lot and uses q's, she's not committing fraud, Plus, I think "this lady" is me. I think I'm the only couponer that goes, as the shelves are never empty, and I have yet to run into another one of "us" It's funny to me how my story of getting inserts from church turns into my uncle blah blah and selling on ebay (actually I donate around 80-85% to our church food pantry...I'm the only one keeping it going)

Sorry this is long. :( Anways, I send my dh back in without me. He buys more than four bottles, the cashier even points out the overlaps in the ESR's (the manager had scolded me about wanting one "early" because the days overlap...good grief) to him. He buys them no problem....TWICE! So basically they are picking on me.

I talked to my friendly RA manager about it and she said that's ridiculous. As long as I'm not committing fraud or not obeying limits set in an ad, then there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to do it. Especially when I'm buying for the older people in our church!

The cashier did tell me to call the store manager and ask him if I can be allowed to purchase more. I may have some of the church officials write letters stating I'm buying stuff FOR THE CHURCH and elderly people in our town, as the stores are so far away. But why should I have to do that?

Anyone else run into this? What should I do?

eta: I just realized in this week's ad (upcoming) that the softsoap says buy 5 or more, get 10 RR! So they're saying we can't even follow what the ad says?!

I'm not going to disagree with your opinion that they are picking on you. However I do believe buying 24 bottles is screaming for attention. Stores do have the right to limit what you buy. I know, its a PITA. I would have divided it up in to 2-3 transactions. And not done it all at one store visit.

    Yeah :frown:

On the other end - have you tried asking the store manager to special order things for you when you know you'll be wanting alot of a certain item? That's what I do with CVS; that way I get what I want, the store has higher sales AND there are always products left for everyone else

I usually don't buy that many at a time. This was one of two times that I've ever done that. But the q's are expiring tomorrow and I won't be in town. I'm calling the store manager today. I understand the limit on number of items, but the picking on me was what bothered me the most.
