Default weird things happened on my WAG GC

I was checking my WAG GC balanced yesterday and found out one transaction on last Friday which I can't recall. So I called the GC center and was told it was used in Mount Prospect,IL, a place I didn't even know.

I didn't lose my car and I used it last Sat. I asked about the store phone number and address and tried to reach them. The phone # given is not working. I checked the WAG stores in Mount Prospect,IL and can't find any store on that address. So weird! The GC center can't help me and have to wait until Monday to call customer relation.

I have been using the WAG GC for years, never have problem like this. Not sure if I should still request GC for the rebate.

The store in the GC system is 1084 MT Prospect Plaza, Mount Prospect, IL. If you live in M.P., you can tell me if there is a walgreen or not.

Sometimes if there is a problem with the magnetic strip on a gift card, a cashier will enter the card number by hand. Perhaps this happened but the cashier made a mistake on one of the numbers and it ended up being your card number instead of the card number on the actual card she had in her hand. This could explain the debit but of couse it doesn't explain the fact that the store doesn't seem to exist....

This happened to me last year. It is something Walgreens did on their end. In my case it was the card one of my daughters (age 24). I had two in her name, one for emergencies for her which I would reload to about $50 and another that I kept (but processed in her name) for all the other FAR. The card involved was the one I kept and reloaded most months. When I tried to use it they said it was no longer valid and I knew it had over $60 on it. When I checked it also said Mt Pleasant IL. After contacting CS they said they didn't know how it happened but it was done by them. Nothing was charged to the card and they reissued it.
