Walgreens ~ Good Deal: WAGS-FAR Storage Bags - UPDATE 8/16

I have my bags but hopefully, like the Razors couple months back, maybe they will run the bags next month too since they are OOS in so many areas. :shrug7:

I went today and talked to the manager of a Walgreens who is THE BEST in the area when it comes to the Walgreen Rebate items. (That store ALWAYS has a shelf set up at 7:00 AM the very first day of the rebate with ALL of the items together in one place.) Anyway, he said that Walgreens will be substituting a different but similar item because of the out-of-stock issue. They can't get anymore from the original manufacturer so they are substituting the item but the Easy Saver people have the new UPCs and you will get your $$. He said this substitute item will be coming in next week. So keep your eyes open.

So, when you say keep your eyes open, do you mean watch for an email, or watch the stores for some display, or watch on these boards? :shrug7:

I didn't get my bags yet, so I'm really interested in knowing!

I'd say watch the store is your best bet. I don't really see them sending out an e-mail. The online list of rebates may also show it, but thats not much good if your stores don't have them in stock.

My stores have been out for the last three weeks. I wish they had them I want to pack away some of my little ones clothes.

I looked at two stores nearby me and they were both out of these, I did see them the first day of the start of the rebate, but haven't seen them since. I really want to get these too, and be done w/wag until sept, when I get a nice rebate, and hopefully will have no oop next month.

I have been desperately waiting for a big bag- dh accidently picked me up another small one, but I know I cannot return it because I used a $5/20 coupon in that transaction- so I was just hoping to exchange and pay the difference.

The manager I talked to said that when he got the substitute item, he would put it out on the end-cap with all of the other monthly FAR items. So, that's where I will look -- twice a week -- when I go. As I said, this manager is EXCELLENT when it comes to having lots of stock for the FAR items well in advance so I know that as soon as he gets them, they will be out on the shelf. As soon as I see them/buy them I will report here with the name of the substitute item and the bar code.

In the meantime, maybe IrishLass can check into this substitute item and give the details here if she has them.

Any update on this? I called several wags after they received their shipments this week only to be laughed at for asking about these bags! The managers said they do not expect any more stock in the rest of the month!
