Walgreens 3 day sale.... ARGHH!! and YAY!! so I took DH with me for the first time to see my couponing in action.... and ARGHHH!! the registers were not set up for the 3 DAY sale at midnight(checked out at about 12:10 or so.) and they did not have the ad at the register. sooo I just did the robitussin and listerine which were weekly deals along with a couple things DH decided he needed that werent on sale or anything....
guess what, the robitussin RRs did NOT print!! arghhhh again. so they had to call the manager, he took me to another register told me it was cause I used coupons. lucky for me, in the ad RIGHT BY the robitussin it said look for coupons blah blah.... so I asked well why does it say that then?? soooo he gave me $5 cash. the cashier who had rung me up came over and said well she only paid less than a dollar then for the robitussin, so I said well you are getting the $6 back from the manufacturer, PLUS 8 cent for each coupon. she looked at DH and said wow she really knows her stuff huh.
so then I pushed my cart aside and told the manager he could put back all the other stuff because I did not need it if the 3 day sale wasnt on and when would it start(the cashier had told me 7am... and I was like well then that would be a 2 3/4 day sale then huh).... so the mgr looked all over the 3 day ad(he went to the back to get it) and said he did not see a time limit on that so he would manually enter the sale price s so he did and sooo YAY...... took 40 minuted but I got my shaving gel(and the sure and intuition which brought my total down to 3 bucks for a bag full of stuff... 9 gels, 2 razors, 2 deoderant, 1 can of tomato sauce which I had needed as a filler with my planned scenario which went out the window. oh and a "my first christmas " hat for my girl which alone was 4.99!! - also paid with 4.50 RR from the listerine)
anyways. anybody's store actually set up for the sale already??

Re: Walgreens 3 day sale.... ARGHH!! and YAY!! I went to my Walgreens this afternoon at about 12:15pm to do a RX transfer. I asked the manager if he had his Thanksgiving Sale ads out yet and when the sale started. He said no ads yet and the sale starts at 6am on Thanksgiving. It really didn't matter to me, my mind was all into CVS. Which in my opinion has way better deals going.But I did pick up the Tide Deal. However after refunding it twice and moving to 3 different registers to find a stupid catalina that would work and print out the RR. I went back to the Pharmacy and went through the mumbo jumbo of transferring a RX. The lady took my coupon and said to come back at 1:30pm I wasn't going to compalin about the length of time. Last time I did this it took them almost two hours to get the RX filled. My concern was that she wanted the coupon before hand. I said to the woman please make sure you don't misplace that coupon. She said "no problem mam." I go on way and return at 3:30pm and they still don't have the RX ready. I asked again to make sure the coupon was still with the RX. They reassured me that it was. So I went back at about 10:30pm finally the Rx was filled and again I asked about the coupon. The guy is fumbling around looking for the coupon and cannot find it. OMG I was getting so angry I knew they were going to lose that coupon. Well to put it lightly I think fire and smoke were going to start coming out of my ears. I have so had it with Walgreens. The Manager comes back doesn't say two words to me and was looking all over. I wasn't sure what he was doing. Then he says "here they are" pulls out a gift card does something in the register and hands me a $30 gift card and my RX. Then says have a nice evening. That was it. I just took my things and left. Never again will I do a RX transfer with Walgreens it nothing but a hassle. Its rediculous that it takes them over 6 hours to transfer a RX. Its not worth the gift card. I have read many posts of people getting frustrated with Walgreens and how they operate. Well I have experianced it for myself and totally can relate now. I just really really needed a good deal on shaving gel(hence being there at midnight) I do love CVS too but I just dont really need anything that is a freebie for black friday there... I have oodles of shampoo, toothpaste, etc. the only thing I really want to get there this week is a coffeemaker, which is why I will do the freebies/moneymakers..... but yes walgreens frustrates me, of course what happened today, also I HATE their ad coupons with a fiery passion. why can't they just make a sale price and leave it at that!!! *rant*

It took less time to transfer a scrip at WG here than it did for me to do my shopping....less than 2 minutes waiting while they made sure they had it, checked my ins, etc and they called my name to pick it up when I was still 2 aisles from being ready to check out.I asked about the coupon. I think CVS is the only place that's faster and that's probably due to the fact that I have a Caremark card thru work & that speeds the process along.

Re: Walgreens 3 day sale.... ARGHH!! and YAY!! Yup. I went at 1:43 am and the guy told me that there was no separate flyer for the 3 day sale! My Excedrin coupons beeped, so he refused to take them. And, they had last month's ESC for the Soleil's still taped to the items, so I tried to use it, but it beeped because it was expired. :hectic1: I should've just gone home after CVS.
re: ** WAL-GREENS ~ Black Friday 2008 ( LIST & AD SCAN POSTED ) I went when our store opened at 9am today. The colgate RR didn't print but the manager was nice and gave me cash. They didn't have their 3 day store ad out so I pulled one of the newspaper (that they sell) so show them that I got the right product.
My stored had $3 peelie coupons on the Schick Intuition razors - so it was a MM for me!!! I might go back to get more before they close. I almost didn't look at the razors because I didn't have a coupon and didn't want to spend .99. I sure am glad I looked! The bonus pack (w/ little bottles of dove shamppo & conditioner) were also part of the sale.
This is turning out to be a great Thanksgiving!!
