Walgreen Issues with Covergirl? Can you order & prepay for OOS items?

Sorry if this is addressed elsewhere - please move if necessary and/or point me in the right direction.

Is anyone having issues with the Covergirl - in particular the packs that have the foundation & compact and the mascara & brow pack? I don't know if it is the packs or the coupon. I have used the free face product wyb foundation coupon, and the $1.00 q's, and I only get q $10 rr. Is this happening for anyone else?

Also, I have been to 3 stores and they are all out of toothpaste & charmin wipes. Has anyone ever asked for the manager to ring up the amount of product you want, pay for it this week, and then pick it up when the next truck comes in? I asked about new stock, and the cashier said they don't get another truck til Tuesday, so she offered to write me a raincheck. It's all fine and dandy, but by then then the promo will be over & I won't get the RR. How would I approach the manager? Thanks.

P&G codes their coupons weird... it may not think the brow pack is a "face item".

That explains why it beeped when they tried that one. However, in another transaction with 2 of the foundation packs (along with other things), it still only gave me the 1 rr for $10 - but I should have gotten 2 RR because I had 9 items. Do they take the item you get for free off the count then?

ANYONE have any ideas on the OP's suggestion of buy it now and pick it up later????

LOL...how about buy it now( toothpaste with $1 Q's) and never pick it up!!! Just take the RR and run..... this is a great idea! :) LOL

My friend had trouble with Covergirl last night and she too bought mascara. I did it with polish, eye shadow and blush and got $20, she had mascara, brow pencils, and a couple other things and only got $10. Don't know if that helps, but it does seem strange. She used a free blush, a $2.50 off 2 and a $1/1 with no beeps.

I went today and for some reason the foundation i picked up didnt ring up as b1 g1 1/2 so it threw my total out of whack and I didnt get teh $20 GGRRRR!!!
So i just asked the mgr if i could return the foundation and the other CG item that would've been half. Came out to an $11 refund so I think that was fair! LOL

Someone had already reported earlier in the week that the double packs were not working for the $20 RR - they have different UPC codes than the *normal* products...

As dar as paying before your order comes in, I'm not sure...I pay when I pick it up, lol. Might have to ask your store that one as it would be up to them really...

I would think not. I am not a fan of this practice of paying before receiving, What if the warehouse discontinued the item you paid for? then you have to go back in explain you paid before recieved, it never came in, you used coupons, got RR, and now you need a refund. If ou already spent your RR. I just think it would turn into a confusing mess if for some reason the product never came in.

I had this problem (both weeks that had the Aveeno deal!) and I asked during the last sale week if I could prepay (as I had placed an order for several tubes of this lotion, but it never came) and pick those items up at a later date...and my answer was a solid NO. :( YMMV, but this was my experience.
