Goes to show that not all walgreens are the same. I have read some crazy things on this site about cashiers and asst. mgrs. But customer should come first. In my region and district they do. but I have been to walgreens in other parts of the country and thier customer service scares the hell out of me. My DM freaks out if we have more than 4 complaints a week as a district, his heart would stop if it was 4 a store. maybe you guys need to call corporate office on poor service. I would not be unreasonable because corp does not give us the rules of the program, and it does look like you are losing money when someone comes in and clears the shelves but only pays 1.00 or something crazy. I look at it like this wag is getting the coupon money and RR money from somewhere or they would stop the program. because they are about making money. if it goes through the register then it must be ok. i have stopped some customers because they are breaking the coupon rules. but be honest and fair and you will have no problems at my walgreens.

You are right about customer service scaring the hell out of some of us. If I don't get good customer service I go to another store. Last week at my WAG the managers/employees walked around as if they were angry. When I asked about some markers that were on sale one WAG manager? showed me where they were. He almost yelled at me "that's all we have, that's all". I imagine he was frustrated by all the diaper deal people. He had no right to take it out on me though. I said nothing because I figured he was having a bad day. If I go in again and he's like that I'm going to complain to the corporate office after I tell him his attitude stinks.

I made a newbie mistake last week. I had the wrong coupon for the product. It wasn't intentional. My eyesight is bad. I told the cashier in advance that I wasn't sure if it was the right coupon and could she check. It didn't work. She said I will let you do it this time but not in the future. I told her no, just take the product off. I don't want to do things illegally. When I do make a mistake don't try to make me feel as if I'm dishonest. If I was dishonest then I wouldn't have said I was unsure about the coupon in the first place. By the way this was not at a WAG store.

Good luck to you in your new job. You will do great with you "customer comes first" attitude. You are right, it is not coming out of your pocket and if you build customer loyalty, you will keep the business from going somewhere else...there is always another Walgreens or CVS around the corner. You get reviewed on your sales, not on being the coupon police.
Good luck to you!

Ha! I got an you can't use two RR's for payment today from a manager. 2 $5 J & J to pay for Kraft items. I said since when? I didn't mention that on the previous....as in 2 minutes ago....I just did the same thing, It was a $5 J & J rr and 1 Mitchum tho. And I had 10 items and 8 Q's, so should've worked. I am printing this out and returning my items.

I go out of my way to be fair and always, always polite when dealing with cashiers, the rules on these promo's are often confusing for employee's as well as customer's. I even went back into a WAG's after a troublesome transaction to show the cashier where she'd made a mistake(she pushed the same coupon thru an extra time) and I paid the $5.99. I also will frequently share good coupons with my favorite cashiers and have no problem asking managers if they'll order large quantities of things I want a lot of. Most of them are more than happy to oblige and very pleased to have my business.

Btw, having stated all of the above, let me also say that though I can understand somebody having a bad day and that people don't get paid much to put up with anywhere near the garbage customers can dish out, I will not tolerate being talked to or treated like some sort of thief for using coupons in a legit and honest manner. I don't get loud, I don't make scences, I do however make darn sure to save the receipt, get names if needed and express my unhappiness to corp.. not by phone, not ny email but via a typed letter, sent to them via certfied mail. A store where cashiers grab coupons and tear them up, where they mutter profanities
and other such abuses is a store that IMHO is very poorly managed and in need of serious care and attention. My certified letters get stores that much needed attention ,corp listens very closely to such letters and the subsequent transfer of an entire family's RX business to another drugstore chain.

Clairol Natural Instincts Hair Color gives a $2 RR, and in sundays paper there is a B1G1 coupon. This should save some money for you guys, most of the ones that have been around a while will have some RR's to use on this deal. As long as they are not from the same company sponsor of the RR, then the $2 RR will not come out. Just an FYI

Default Re: Register Rewards Talk--UPDATE

So, I received my first RR last week and tried to use it on another purchase with a coupon. Obviously, I was denied. No explanation, just that I could not use it. I was confused because I thought they worked liked CVS ECB's. Then, I got on HCW and read all 10 pages of this thread.....wow....my head was hurting. I decided I would just avoid the frustration and either throw away my three $1 rr and shop at CVS.

But, I decided to go to WAGS one more time and look for something that I needed or wanted that I did not have a coupon for and that I wasn't trying to work a good deal.
To my surprise, I found something instantly!!! Now for you HCW veterans, please forgive this newbie trying to share something I discovered on my own and I thought was a "good tip".......I used my $1 rr on the Sunday paper!!!!!!!!! I was so happy it worked. No hassel, something I could always use, no extra calories......

I hope this helps someone out.....I find everyone's suggestions on here so helpful.
Have a great day everyone !!!!!!
