DEAD:Walgreens 5/4- 5/10 (AD SCANS ENCLOSED!)

Okay, so someone else here may already know this but it was just explained to me by an assistant manager...I special ordered x amount of crest pro-health nighttime toothpastes a week and a half ago. They didn't come in so I asked this AM why...he said that even though it shows that the warehouse has plenty in stock, it doesn't mean that a special order made by a store manager will get it. They are only alloted x amount because the DM or someone higher than him may have "first dibs" on the items in warehouse. So I asked why did this store run out of these items that were advertised, when does the store manager place an order or when does he know of the upcoming sales. The AM said that the store manager KNOWS SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE OF SALES (like these RR deals) but it is still out of his control if he gets what he orders!!! So we see the deals what two weeks in advance, the store manager sees them months prior!!!

Do any of you out there who work for WAGs know of this?

Yes, it was exhausting. I won't sell any of it.

I will keep a dozen bottles of the cascade, maybe one or 2 of the other stuff, but the 99% of this stuff will be donated to various groups.

The Old Spice bodywash has been earmarked for the troops, as is a few dozen toothpastes. The rest of the stuff will go to multiple shelters/food pantries, etc.

That's exactly what I was thinking: exhausting! I've just done this 3 times today and it wiped me out. WTG!

When I did this today I bought the last 4 of the Crest Pro-Health Night at my store. They were completely wiped out of the Cascade Action Packs, which I really wanted. But I got a couple of Venus Razors with the P&G RR, 6 boxes of Garnier 100% Hair Color and 4 bags of Milanos. I'll check back later in the week and hopefully they'll be restocked. I just can't understand why they can't stock more when they have deals like this?

As far as I know I am not surprised. There were 3 of us in the same *region* that order Crest from 3 different stores. The first 2 stores claimed they did not come in (warehouse issues) I'm still waiting to hear from the store that I ordered from but will not be surprised if/when it does not arrive.

I've gotten to the point where I know not to get my hopes up. There will always be other deals =)

At the 4th WAGS I hit, I got 5 cascades.. They didn't have the wipes so I grabbed 4 Magic Erasers., I didn't have any coupons for those...... (if there are any) but I was thrilled with the cascade and magic erasers for basically a $1.50.

yes, I think it will mess it up. its like when an IVC doesn't work and the cashier becomes helpful to key it in manually or price adjust, the register goes crazy and does not accept a second coupon for a BOGO sale whereas if it just scans by itself, the register takes a second coupon and the free is taken off at the end. when this happens, I just request to take off the item from the order, usually I pay more than what I computed for so its easier for me to take off the item right then.

that's my previous experience with RR deals, when something is price adjusted, it doesn't print the RR.

you can try with 9 CGs, at least when it doesn't print 2 $10 RRs, you can ask for a SM to fix it.

Oh wow Jill! I am so glad you posted this! I guess it was a blessing in disguise that the cashier wouldnt let me buy the 9 boxes of this stuff (although I was pizzed at the time). Crazy!

If you can find a walgreens that will let you get the 9 tubes, then it is still a money maker and you can just trash the toothpaste. I would feel guilty donating this. No one wants stained teeth.

Have done the deal 3 times now, once at midnight (went beautifully) and again today. Midnight run did not find any cascade and very little prohealth. Hopefully more cascade will come in or I will find a store that has some. I was not so excited about the CG but I am really starting to buy into it now! It is kind of fun getting free makeup!

Today was the first I could get to Wag this week. All 5 stores I went to were completely out of the Crest on this sale. Not a total loss, I was able to get the Covergirl stuff, and Zantac and Phenom razors.
