Here's his story...
Dax Locke is a 2 year old boy fighting a losing battle with leukemia. He was recently sent home from St Jude, because after 2 stem cell transplants, there is nothing left to do. He is enjoying his last weeks at home with his family. His story has inspired his community and others state, country, and world-wide. Dax and his young family inspired others to "Decorate for Dax" - after he was defined as "terminal" around Halloween, his neighbors decided to decorate for Christmas early for Dax - since it was very likely that he wouldn't make it until Christmas - visit www.decoratefordax.com to read about the story and see pictures- it's quite amazing!

As of today, Dax is inpatient at the Children's hospital in Peoria, IL. While he hasn't got much time left, his family is making the most of every moment they have with him. Every moment that he awakens and wants to "dance" is a miracle in itself.

Update on Dax: He pretty much sleeps all day, but his mom writes that he is mostly comfortable. There is a chance that he could still be with us on Christmas - which is a miracle in itself - as doctors originally said that he wouldn't. Like his Mommy said, Dax will do it to prove the doctors wrong!

The good news is that his story has not been announced in the Central Illinois Top 10 stories of 2009 - meaning there's a good chance he's number #2 or hopefully NUMBER 1 !!! This would be a great trubute to this lil boy and his family. Thanks to all that voted! ~Erica

I'm from central IL and have followed his story so sad to seem him pass but he made it past Christmas and I'm sure him and his family cherished that day fully just like all the days in his short life
