OUTDATED ~ Vons FAQ and Coupon Policy

I was at Von's Redlands last night. I bought some Pork country style ribs and 4 99cent colgate and wanted to use 4 75 on one colgate. I was told that they only allow two like coupons so I asked her to take off the other two colgate.

Is this really their policy? If it is, then no more vons for me.

Should I contact corporate? TIA

Each store seems to be making up its own rules regarding how many "like" coupons that it will take. What is supposedly consistent so far is that only one like coupon will double. I'm not sure if corporate will give you the answers you are looking for but you will never know for sure unless you call them.

It was for a little while (only a few months) last year. When they took away $1 doubles they removed that wording at the checkout stands and now it says something about 'reserving the right to limit.'

You should ask the cashier where it says this and he/she will see it has changed; as I have run into a few cashiers who were unaware of the change. I ordered 40 of a product last week and had no problems using 40 coupons.

This is interesting. Even though one of their rules is: "Only the 1st like coupon will be doubled," my Vons doubles multiples for me. In other words, if I buy two products and hand over two identical coupons, they double both of them. I've never tried it with more than two, though.

I had two double for me also! I only did it once...but I'm not complaining!!!

Funny thing though, I just read the "fine print" on my old AD's and on my new AD that came in today's mail, and nowhere in the fine print does it say that you can only use 2 like coupons. I will definately be contacting CS (they were already closed when I left), and will be very interesting to hear what they say.... It's starting to sound like Vons doesn't want their customers to save ANY money. Well...there are lots of other places that welcome coupons, I guess I'll have to start going elsewhere.

I went to the Vons tustin ave Orange! becasue i was in that area.

This is an email I just received from corporate, FYI:

Dear Ms. _______:

Thank you for your reply regarding the coupon policy, the answers are as follows:

1.) This policy applies to all Vons stores nationwide.

2.) The value of the coupon is set by the manufacturer and usually does not exceed 50% of the value. Due to this we do not accept coupons that allow you to get the item for free, unless it is a BOGO coupon.

3.) It is up to the managers discretion to accept coupons and in certain store the policy may be stricter due to continued coupon abuse by "select groups".

4.) Double Coupons is a promotion that is available for a limited time. This promotion is for manufacturer coupons only. The double discount does not apply to Vons/Pavilions store coupons or any other in-store coupons. Limit of 1 double manufacturer coupon discount per like item.

Coupons that exceed the value of the items can only be doubled up to the actual retail value of that item. Except as advertised, coupons that require the purchase of multiple items are excluded. Customers will get double the value of the manufacturer coupon UP TO $1.00. For example, if the coupon is for $.70 it will only be doubled to $1.00

The Diamond Bar Von's is the worst ever for couponers.
There are a few really nice checkers there, but most of the cashiers are nasty!

I wonder if Vons knows that they are the only ones that limit the number of coupons that can be used.... oh well thats why I hardly shop there anymore! When they start closing stores, maybe then they will figure it out?!:shrug7:
