just a hmm Before you boycott Vons and go to Albertsons, etc

Hi: I shop the deals and make the loop in our area, 2 Ralphs, 2 Von's, 2 Longs ( soon to be CVS YAH), 1 Albertsons, 1 cvs, 1 99cent store, and 1 Trader Joes. I drive less than 6.5 miles and I can do 10 stores, they all take Q's and Ralph's and Von's double to $1. On Thursday I'm up north 25 miles to pick up food for the poor and by the time I deliver and arrive home there are like 35 Stores to shop at and some twice on my return trip, so you can see I don't have time for worrying about what used to be, hey there's all kinds of deals out there just for the pickings. Some weeks are better than others but we haven't been promised a rose garden w/o thorns huh?

You are soooooooooo blessed to have all those stores. So blessed!! And it sounds like you are being a blessing, too.(I live in the thorns...city w/out major stores)

Vons and Ralphs used to double q's this way:

.55 q doubled = $1.10 off
$1 q doubled = $2 off
$2 q doubled = $3 off (max double of $1)

Now they double this way
.55 q doubled = $1 off (max double total of $1)
$1 or more = NO double

Most of us are not boycotting in a traditional way. It's just that the only way we could afford their over inflated prices was with q's. So now, instead of going to Vons and Ralphs for deals and picking up our non q essentials, we just go for the mega deals.

Ralphs said they would now have "over all" lower prices to make up for the lack of double q's. Sadly enough ... the prices are still high.

Who can afford their regualar price items?!!?

In the last 6 months I've shopped Ralphs once for Capri and Chili Deal = $10 And Vons once for a half off calendar = $5 (I was working there auditing the store)

How much has Vons and Ralphs Lost?

I'm not a q expert and my family loves brand names ... so Albertson's and Stater Brothers has now received over $3000 of my grocery money during the last 6 months (about $120 a week). Before q's we were at about $200 a week
