To that point, beginning August 20, our shopping policy will be slightly modified. We plan to bring our coupons to trader joes, where the service and prices remain excellent.

Sad thing here is that with all their non-couponer sales, we simply don't rate to them. The small percentage of us that make up their overall total sales is just not profitable enough for them to cater to us any more. I personally don't think they are considering ALL we do for them, besides shop in their store. For instance, what do you think this forum will look like after 8/20? Bet it's as dry as Ralphs or Stater is. That means less word of mouth. How many of us rave on Von's prices & customer service to our friends - those that do not use coupons? They are loosing a lot more than my dollars here, they are loosing my word of mouth. I've been a store loyal shopper for 7 years, since I moved to so. cal. Well, not any longer. :hectic1:



I'd sure like to see their data via club cards on their "loyal" shoppers after this change. Airlines miles are NOT enough to bring me in, I've been collecting miles for years and never got a thing from them yet.


There's a new price war starting and it's for MY shopping dollars. May the best deal win!

I was doing sooo well, really saving great, enjoying the game of saving... and just starting to actually have real cash to save, gasp and yay..

so this is frustrating, but hey I'll deal, we all will..

"get it" the impt of saving, of coupons..
i swear i could hit my friends and families over the head w/ a frying pan and they still don't get it or want to do it.. anyway, this is our support group..

so gosh yeah.. considering hundreds, hundreds of dollars lost.... from not dbling.. and you're all right..
they do NOT need to be doing this!!!
bc we probably only make up what 3%.. of their very loyal customer base.. but that counts!!
and esp word of mouth...

On the 19th I plan on using every last $1 and up Q I can.
I will go in and out of that store to do so until they kick me out
When they do ask me to stop it won't matter any more because as long as the new policy is in place I will not go back!
I think we should all bombard them on the last day with high value Q's and let them see how much money we do spend. At the end of the day a dollar from the MF is the same as a dollar from my pocket it's still money. My store needs to order less papers on Saturday because I will be getting them from CVS from now on. Cha-ching more loss to them. No more buying gas at vons no more starbucks and no more grocery shopping.

I wasn't even sure I wanted to go shopping at Vons last night after this bad news, but I am glad that I did because I got in on the last of the major sales (this weeks ad sucks! What a surprise!) and was able to use my last $10/$50 Vons Q that expires 8/14, in addition to my regular $1 Q's. OOP was $4.22 (95% saved) and is probably the last great grocery deal that I will ever experience at Vons. :frown:

On a good note, I think deeann7 is on to something in that we should go out with a bang! Instead of moping around and letting those $1 Q's go to waste, we should get out there and use as many $1 Q's as we can before Vons policy changes and in doing so, making a statement.
