if you have a trader joes nearby, check them out. i started shopping there more during the strike, and i still go to it. they have high quality food, short lines, and they do accept coupons, if they happen to carry a name brand item.

also, remember, vons has pulled this before. they may give !

I'm taking my money to the lowest bidder now!!

I will be shopping at any and all stores (except Vons and Ralphs, they are on my "KM:sb2:A" list) until someone steps up to the plate with constant generous deals and fair coupon policies.
This had me LMAO!!!

I am disappointed that Vons has decided to be a "follower" instead of "leader." :frown: I guess the best thing we can do at this point is to get in as many $1 doubles as we can until the very last minute. Although I really like Vons, I see myself spending less money there in the future. *sigh* On a good note, I also have lots of stores to pick and choose from here, and so I shall be spreading my money around that much more to the competition. Naughty naughty Vons!

SAD Re: Vons is going the Ralphs way!

man this bites! i don't know what i'm going to do. no more free tava, no more free raid, no more free jolly time, the list goes on and on. this is all ralphs' fault for starting this whole "rounding" coupons up to a $1 garbage.

I think I am going to cry. Seriously. I'd call, but I don't think I want to know.

I'll switch to our local butcher shop & Target if they do it. I have not set foot into Ralphs since they changed their policy, and I swear I won't go back to Vons either. Will. Not.

How odd that today I was emailed from a reporter at the LA Times about the online petition I started regarding Ralph's when they started their new policy in June. She's doing a story on it.

I hope it is not related. :(

If it is make sure she knows that there are many of us here that feel the same way!! Vons is going to feel it when we all walk away. I wonder if Ralphs has felt it yet?

Re: your coupon policy changes as of 8/20/08

I originally was a Staters Brothers shopper, but left to shop at Vons. The thing that made me leave Staters was your double coupon policy. Now that you are changing it and are no longer willing to double the $1 and up coupons I will be taking my shopping elsewhere.

I have always thought of Vons as a leader not a follower, but your current decision to follow Ralphs is beyond disappointing. The manager I spoke to stated the change was made because of Ralphs new policy. He also stated it was also being done to help keep prices down over all. Well I have stood in your lines at the store so many times only to see most of your customers are not using coupons. Many times they do not even have a Vons card. So with that observation I believe most people are paying regular price more often than not. Your prices are high but I could always justify shopping at your store because the double coupons balanced everything out. I no longer feel this way!

A great example of your high prices I have a coupon for a FREE cat treats up to $1.69. At your store it is not free because your price was $2.57, way above the manufacturer recommended price.

I have a brand new Fresh and Easy that just opened up just down the street from you. Also I have a Costco, Walmart, CVS and Staters close by. My Vons has a gas station which I spend about $240.00 a month plus the $150.00 per week I spend on groceries is now a total loss of $800.00 per month to your store. My store also has a Starbucks that I will no longer frequent. No big loss because I have a drive through right down the street. Cha-ching another loss to you! I will buy my gas and other things elsewhere. I know I am not alone in my decision to leave your store. Many of my friends feel the same way. I am certain you will feel the loss of your customers because we have many shopping options beside Vons.

Sincerely a soon to be former shopper,
Ms XXXX

This really sucks. I am more glad than ever that I have a large stockpile. As it is now, I pretty much only get the freebies because I don't "need" anything else. I guess I'm not going to be shopping much...
