    I did it! I went in and spoke to the same manager, who had the customer service cashier give me a $20. In and out in five minutes!! WOO HOO!! Thanks everyone for your encouragement and help! I'm very non-confrontational so this was huge for me.

    I'm so glad to see so many people standing up and saying "show me the money". As for taking the problem up with catalina ... NEVER. Per explaination on this board and on other boards catalina is a company used by grocery stores for the promotions. VONS needs to deal with catalina not me. I'm buying my groceries at vons not at catalina (although the island is very nice to visit). If I saw a sign that read: kraft mayo .99, I would expect to pay .99 cents when I got to the register. If I see a BLUE tag I expect to see a catalina print at the end of my transaction. If vons accepts double coupons ... then they should not count against you for the ssm.

    I know I'm ranting again ...
    Just trying to get myself ready for another trip to Vons

    I'm willing my coupon binder to my sister if I don't make it home again.

    Just noticed this thread and I thought I'd jump in with my experience. . . . I called vons when my $20 cat didn't print, only a $10 one did. The guy at vons had no idea that they were even running a promo, said he'd research it and call me back right. I e-mailed vons, only to get a form letter directing me to catalina. after firing off another e-mail to vons, I did call catalina and was pleasantly surprised. The lady there sighed when she heard my story--apparently she had heard it before! She said she'd research my transaction and call me back, AND SHE DID!!! Amazing. She verified that I DID purchase 25 items, and said she was sending me my missing $10 cat and a $5 one too, for my trouble. Meanwhile vons e-mailed back offering me a 10% discount until the end of Sept. I accepted

    Of course, tonight again, my cat didn't print the right amount. I knew exactly why, but the shift supervisor said she couldn't "force" it, and I'd have to call vons corp. Ugh. I'm going to call my friends at catalina again and hope for the best. . . . . my trouble tonight was that the windex somehow wasn't in the system at this store. She keyed it in as "general merchandise" so the system also didn't recognize it as a promo item. ugh.

    long winded way of saying, the catalina corp seems much more customer friendly than vons!
