    Default Hungarian Cucumber Salad

Found this here: Cucumber Salad Recipe (Uborka Saláta)

    Have not tried it yet.

    Hungarian Cucumber Salad

    • 3 cucumbers
    • 1 large onion
    • salt
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 3 tablespoons vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons water
    • freshly ground black pepper
    • paprika
    1. Peel cucumbers and slice both cucumbers and onions very thin.
    2. Place in a large bowl and salt generously. Allow to marinate for about 1 hour.
    3. Grab handfuls of cucumber onion mix and squeeze as much water out as you can.
    4. Whisk together sour cream, vinegar, water, and freshly ground pepper to taste. Stir into cucumber mix.
    5. Serve immediately or refrigerate to mellow. Sprinkle paprika over top for presentation if desired.

That is the same exact recipe I made for my husband awhile back. He LOVED it and ate it for 2 days, lol
I hate cucumbers but if you like them you will LOVE this recipe.

Great, thanks for the input Shelley!! I have everything BUT the cucumbers on hand and I don't want to make it with old, store-bought ones.

Did you add the water too? I was surprised it called for you to mash out water then add some back in. I do want to try this, I think Vegetarian girl will like it.

P.S. I didn't count salt, pepper and paprika since they are pretty standard staples so I put this in "5 ingredients or less."
