FINGER LAKES NY-- Canandaigua lake

Going up there this summer for a getaway with hubby for a long weekend. The accomodations are booked, but we are looking for interesting things to do while up there, places to eat/snack, etc.

Any and all info on the area that you can share would be wonderful. Thanks in advance!!!

We are staying at the lower end of the lake between Canandaigua and Honeoye lakes.

Wine Country! Also I'm not sure how far Watkins Glen is, but that's a great park to visit.

There is wine tasting along Canandaigua, and all around Seneca Lakes. If you like to visit historical things, recommend Sonnenberg Gardens - gorgeous house open to the public in Canandaigua, and Rose Hill Mansion in Geneva. If you like water parks, there is one in Canandaigua. As for places to eat......uh, might want to check Tripadvisor or Urbanspoon. If you like concerts, check here: http://www.pollstar.com/; there are a couple of places in short distance to see concerts. The CMac, and Darien Lake have concerts all summer long.

You may consider taking a day trip to Niagra Falls. You can be there in a couple hours. The Canadian side has a nice Casino if you gamble. It's been awhile since we lived in that area but lots of nice stuff at the Falls.

Be sure to ride the Canandiagua Lady (if it's still running). Great paddle boat around the lake with dinner.

we don't have passports for the canadian side. I've been there once and we would like to make niagra a seperate trip in and of itself.

I LOVE Canandaigua! Grew up close to there & now live in Syracuse. The Canadaigua Lady is great! Don't know if you are going close to 4th of July, but if so, they are booking NOW for 4th of July Fireworks Cruise! (and will fill up fast).
