I LOVE Canandaigua! Grew up close to there & now live in Syracuse. The Canadaigua Lady is great! Don't know if you are going close to 4th of July, but if so, they are booking NOW for 4th of July Fireworks Cruise! (and will fill up fast).

Wine Country! Also I'm not sure how far Watkins Glen is, but that's a great park to visit.

That was my thought!! Have a good friend from Corning and we go up to festivals a few times a year.

i used to live in canandaigua, years ago. As forrestaurants, i wouldnt have any suggestions that are, as you say "real time" as restaurants come and go.

It is a beautiful place, parks on the water, nice walking scene. lots of places to get things that you need.

As for casino, in a nearby town( farmington) there is a little casino by the racetrack(horse) which in turn inst far from a real car racetrack. dont know what youre into, but i know those two things are close to each other, if either would fit your fancy. There is also roseland water park right in canandaigua, ive heard good things, but i havent been.
