Default Las Vegas ---> Anyone familiar w/ area? Need Wedding Tips!

Hello! PLEASE help me plan my wedding week if you know anything about Vegas!!

I am getting married in Las Vegas in Feb 2012. While I am very excited, we have actually never been there. There are just 5 of us going- me, dh (well soon-to-be dh) my best friend & her dh, and dh's best friend. We already have our flight and hotel paid for. We are staying at the Flamingo Hotel. We are getting married at the Flamingo hotel as well, then a limo ride around the city with photographer. Ending the evening with a helicopter ride.

So I still need a limo- Any advice? The most reasonable quote I have gotten so far for the 5 hours we need is $350 which includes fuel surcharges and chauffeur gratuity. Does this sound reasonable? This is for a regular stretch limo and does not include bar. Speaking of Bar... this company says they can not provide alcoholic beverage but we can bring them if we want. Does no limo service provide a stocked bar? Or is that just them?

    Any recommendations for photo ops?

Recommendations on fun things to do the rest of the days we are there (we will be there a week.) ???

Please don't think I'm crazy for getting married in a city I've never been to (bf's dh thinks we are... but we would have to end up in jail or something insane for it to be worse than my first marriage so I'm not too concerned ) lol

Flamingo is a nice hotel. You should have a nice stay. Helicopter ride sounds awesome. We didnt have enough time or funds left to do that before we left.

Sounds about right for the limo. I dont know about the stocked bar. I would call around and ask.

You gotta get pics by the fountain and by New Your New Yoork. Along the strip is a couple of brass camels we got pics on.
Really anywhere is Vegas is a photo op.

Dont know if you will have a car or not, but the Hoover Dam is awesome to see. Ifyou fly in at night you will fly over it and its just beautiful.
Just walk the strip and make sure to walk in and out of all the hotels., Each has their own decor and some of it is just beautiful.

Enjoy yourself. You will see all kinds of things to do there once you get there. Just take it slow, the alcohol flows really good out there and Im sure you want to remember this wedding and week.

I have not been for like 5 or so years so this might not be 100% acurate

    Photo ops:
The Bellagio has AN AMAZING indoor garden that would be a perfect photo op, then outdoor by their fountain!

I would don a cigar and sit at a poker table playing in my dress and tux - but that's just me.

I would definately find an Elvis impersinator!!

    Places to go:
The breakfast buffet at Paris was Awesome

The breakfast brunch at the Four Seasons delicious (expensive) but a good chance to find celebrities! especially sunday morning!

I'm back - I thought of another thing - By the welcome to las Vegas sign.

Another really cool place is Ghost Bar - located on the 55th floor of the Palms. It has amazing views - and this glass block in the floor that you can see all 55 floors down - it is a feeling like nothing you will ever have again. (don't dare look if you have a fear of heights).

Limo service price sounds about right. And there are lots of limo companies that don't provide alcohol because of the liability and it would make the drivers have a "license to serve" also..something I dont think they can enforce since they aren't able to be in control of the drinks at all times.

    Photo Ops:
On the strip: Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Palazzo are all beautiful places for pics.

Off the strip: Lake Las Vegas, Tivoli or Queensridge (off the strip in summerlin). I would make sure your photographer KNOWS Las Vegas well (not just the strip). There are so many beautiful places here, and most aren't even on the strip

Things to do here- Gamble (of course) Red Rock National Park or Mount Charleston both are beautiful to drive/hike/outdoor things. Outlet shopping (both at the North and South ends of the strip), Springs Preserve is a neat place to go and learn about desert life/animals etc. Hoover Dam is cool, and they just finished the by pass bridge which is 900 feet above the dam. (When you drive over it, you can't stop or look down---thank God!), but you can drive through the dam and take some dam pictures .

Also, if you guys have time, I would say take a drive to the Grand Canyon...the SkyWalk is a seethrough bridge that suspends from the rim or the Grand Canyon and is 4,000 feet above the canyon floor (Grand Canyon Skywalk | Visit the Grand Canyon West Rim Skywalk) . It's about a 2.5 hour drive from Vegas and something you'll never get to experience anywhere else. A lot of tour companies offer transportation to/from and admission to the grand canyon..all you gotta do is wake up to meet the bus and let them do the driving.

    I hope this helps!

hopefully this is not too late,
We were married in Vegas on 12-24-07, second marriage for me.
Find a chapel and let them take care of everything for you <G> They have limos that will pick you and your party up and take you back, there are all sorts of venues I am sure you have already shopped around.
I would skip renting a limo for the entire evening, The stripped is often packed. If this is just a private wedding, there is a great cake place that will deliver to your hotel or restraunt. No matter which hotel you stay at, let them know you are the bride and ask for an upgrade. It will take you an easy 2 full days just to tour the hotels, I suggest you do this, pretty :) Plus dont forget all of the free stuff see the las vegas guide.
