Atlantic City - Staying @ the Tropicana

Can anyone give me some information, tips, things to do, and/or what to expect in Atlantic City while staying @ the Tropicana?

After much deliberation and budget-watching, my fiance and I have decided to take a "mini moon" to Atlantic City right after our wedding in July, and then a longer honeymoon in the late fall or winter.

I did a lot of research and have decided to stay @ the Tropicana. My fiance and I are not big gamblers (neither of us has even been in a casino), but the location and entertainment left the Tropicana as an easy choice.

We don't really know a ton about Atlantic City, but know that there will definitely be things to keep us busy.

Does anyone have any information for us? We are staying July 24-27. What are the "can't miss" things to do in AC? Also, what is all the "hype" about the boardwalk? We've also heard a lot about Steel Pier... Has anyone stayed @ the Tropicana and can give us some information?

I live about 45 minutes from AC, you're going to love the boardwalk! It's huge, but gets packed with people. There are shops galore all over, just please be careful if you decide to wander off of the boardwalk. AC isn't really the place you want to wander too much. Other than that there are tons of shows going on all over the place, not just at the Trop. I'm not a big gambler at all, but I do love sitting at the slots, putting a nickel or penny in here and there and watching everyone. People watching down there should be considered a sport!!! lol Plus if you're sitting there, you get free drinks! LOL Have a great time!

I'm about 45 mins from AC also. Amen to what cpaige said. Lots to do down there, shows galore and just people watching is cool. If you want the best hoagies ever, hit the White House....we drive down just for the hoagies sometimes. If you like live music, I suggest checking out what's happening at the House Of Blues, great venue. I would also like to caution you about venturing off the boards/beach block, can be a little rough. Tropicana is very nice. There is a lot to do there and see.

When you get there - there are many free newspapers that you can pick up too. There are outlets not too far away. Bus system called Jitney - which is real easy to take
