update on Port Orleans Resort- Riverside Have any of you stayed here,at Disney?

If you are planning to go in 2012 the quick service plan for 2012 will only have one snack. Also when you dine at a resort and drive there they give you a 3 house parking pass so just be aware of that, sometimes people are towed. If you plan on character meals and dining it opens up 180 days before check in and the character meals book quick.

We are now back and I would like to share with you about Port Orleans Resort- Riverside..

Dont eat at Boatwrights dinning hall..the service is very slow to refill drinks, Ect. The food is way over priced for what you get and they have very few choices to pick from and they have fancy words in them instead of just saying fried fish ect. The tip is added to the ticket and the waitress still asked us if she could keep the chnage after there being almost a $25 tip added for her, which she was not near worth.

The Mill food court was not much better. They have stuff percooked and you tell them whta you want, well they try to heard you down the line like a bunch of cows or something. The women behind the counter was telling us to move on in a rude tone over and over when I had not even told her what I wantted for my kids yet. The food was not that good either. The bacon had no flavor and the mini waffles were cold and hard..

The free drinking cups with free refills is to be filled at the food court and got there also. BUT its really hard to get any ice for them and the coke really dont have much taste to it at all..

We had NO help in finding our room. They texted us and said told us the lodge and room number. We went back to get someone to show us they went out and pointed telling us to go this way and that way..let me tell you that was not much help for the place is so big.

The online ad makes it seem like the big sea animal side is at the riverside when its at the french quater, which is where you want to say anyway for the food and service is much better. After the first day we found that everything we wantted to eat or do was at the French quater. If you are at riverside in the standard room let me tell you that is a LONG walk to anything at the riverside part and even longer to the French quater unless you take a bus or boat.

Its shows you at riverside you can rent bikes to ride(well dont they are a not any good) my son got one to ride around the resort and they adjusted the seat and stuff for him but the seat would not stay up as he was talking it back to show them the seat dropped down more and caused him to get hurt and he had to go to the hospital. They did not even give him a discount he only had the bike about 10 minutes, they charged for 1 hour still....

The rooms we had were nice and the beds were made each day and any trash was took out.

The they dont say
1) any stormy weather at all the boats dont run to the french quater or downtown or from them either
2) the pools also close and wont open for 1 hour after the rain, ect has passed. It was thundering in the far when we were walking around checking things out. We were standing at the opening to go to the pool looking and they told us that we were not even allowed to be at the opening to the pool even to just check it out.
3) rent a seado..yeah right the water is NASTY Nasty I mean black and you get a very small space to ride it in(the black wate was enough for us tho but others were still renting them.
4)carriage rides was with a regular old horse and they were really rank smelling, i know that horse dont smell that great but this smell was really bad they could have at least sprayed them down, but when their drinking water was a bucket that was filled with the black river water I guessed they did not care.

So would I say at Port Orleans Resort- Riverside again NO....I would how ever stay at the Port Orleans Resort- French quater for the service, the food and the workers were much more helpful.

we just came back..

The meals saved us alot of money..some of the meals at the food courts were $15..

Besure to get you a bottle drink, and a dessert with each meal for you can take it back to your room for later which the drinks came in handie for since its so far to walk if you are in the standard rooms. we took our cups to fill for free so we could save the bottle drinks for the room.

If you have left over meals you can trade those in for 3 snack items/drinks for one meal.
