We went at the beginning of March and here are some suggestions-
    - I really didn't like the tram- you had to walk so far to get to it- really wasn't helpful.
    - the bus was my favorite way of travel
-a lot of the places we ate the food wasn't that great and really pricey- so be careful
-I agree about taking a shuttle to/from airport. they do have a bus line that goes to the airport too that is really cheap.
    - really loved freemont street and is really cool at night with the lights.
I don't eat buffet's so I can't really tell you about any- I would recommend not registering for any of those "free play" offers because they are really a joke and time consuming.

You will love Vegas! I have been on cruises, all inclusive vacations to mexico, but vegas was my favorite. The LOVE show at the mirage, was the best show i have ever seen in my life, be sure to see it. You have to be very careful in vegas or else you could spend a fortune on dining out. My husband and I cut cost by eating at more fast food type places, like there is a 50's style place that serves very good burgers and fries, and an awesome pizza place in the food court at MGM which is where the lion habitat is. There are several places at the food court that you can cut cost. We did splurge a couple of times like eating a breakfast buffet at the paris hotel, which was good but very expensive, and also the buffet at MGM for dinner which end up costing like 80 dollars, and to me was just a typical everyday buffet (not worth the money). We also had a couple of good dinners at the Cheesecake factory at ceasar's palace, and hardrock cafe, because it is a chain restaurant and we knew kinda what prices to expect. Also, if you drink alcohol, that can be very expensive, usually 10-15 dollars per drink. We bought beer at a Walgreens on the strip, and you can take a double decker trolley all up and down the strip, which you purchase a pass for which is the most cost effective for getting around. Trust me no matter how much walking you want to do, you will need transportation because the strip is quite a haul, even though it don't look like it. I hope this helps!

    Default Las Vegas!

Don't forget the umbrella stroller - lots of walking in Vegas. I have a 2 1/2yr old and can totally relate. I've been to Vegas a lot. I agree with some of the suggestions above and might repeat some.
Things that would be fun and interesting for a 3 yr old-
Mirage Volcano, Bellagio Fountains, Shark/Aquarium in Mandalay Bay, MGM lion exhibit and eating at the Rainforest Cafe, Bellagio - Conservatory (could be interesting if they still have the butterflies flying and landing on you), Caesar's statues (they have a show where the statues move - schedule is usually in the hallway by the statues), Mirage - white tigers and they have a separate park area (use to have dolphins, different marine stuff - sorry haven't been through the park in years), Treasure Island - siren show, Venetian - Gondola rides, Rio (off the strip but free shuttles to it) - Masquerade in the sky show, Paris - Eiffel tower (ride to the top), Stratosphere - ride to the observation deck. Fremont Street experience is a must and your 3 yr old will love it plus the food is cheaper down there.
If you do decide to rent a car (pretty reasonable), you could see Hoover Dam, Ethel M chocolate factory, Kids Museum, Mt. Charleston.
Go see Mac King's Magic Show at Harrah's. It is awesome and very kid friendly! Worth the money and it is during the day time hours. It blow's the other high price magician shows away.
Take advantage of the free tram that runs from Bellagio to Monte Carlo and Aria and that would also be fun for a three year old.
Since you are staying in the Flamingo, they do have flamingos and some other animals to see too.
There are a few McDonalds, Subways, etc. that will help food wise too. Most of the hotels have food courts so they will be convenient for your little one. If you are in the New York New York area - the American Cafe (has a huge wall display of the U.S.) and the food is very good and huge portions (easy to split a plate with a little one).
I also know that shuttles are great, but be aware that you will be stopping at several hotels along the way and that can wear on your little ones patience.
Hope this helps. Have a Great Time in Vegas!
