    Default Bidding on Airline tickets

Hello, I've seen a few posts about people successfully bidding on hotel rooms and I'm wondering has anyone bid on airline tickets? I did some reading on it a year ago and it looked like you may not fly out of the airport you wanted and the times could be almost anytime. Just wondering if anyone has done this successfully, if so will you please share how it works?

I have never had any success with it. I was planning a trip to Vegas. They did have me boarding at the "local" airport but I flew to Houston and sat there for 5 hours and then flew into Vegas. It would have costed me an entire day since I wouldnt have gotten into Vegas until early morning instead of afternoon of the day before. Plus I was able to find a straight flight to Vegas for the same amount of money. Its not so bad if you can sight see and do things while you are on a lay-over, but I didnt want to have to rent a car for a few hours just to drive around a city I had no idea about.

Maybe someone else will have a different opinion, but I have never had success with bidding on flights.
