We just moved to DC so we have been going to the tons of Smithsonian's here...I would definitely not call the museum touring here sedentary. Those days I have come home exhausted. Seeing the museums and monuments here can easily have you walking 10 miles a day all around D.C.!
If you were into sight seeing...they have much to see here in DC. Or a vacation to Colonial Williamsburg and then hit up DC for a day (about 3 & 1/2 hrs north)...that would be a good historical type vacation.
#1 due Sept. 5th
How about a theme tour? My hubby and his brother did "BBQ joints of the Southeast". They drove up from Florida to NC and hit all of the great and famous BBQ joints. They did a little research before hand and got to visit some great cities that most people don't think of as typical tourist towns. You could do anything like that, chocolate tours, little wineries, ethnic restaurants, a B&B tour. We also love St Augustine, for its history, proximity, laid back pace, and many many things to do.
my children believe that there is a coupon fairy ... may she visit you soon and often!
