CHAT My Rooms & Food are ALWAYS FREE in Atalntic City/Vegas. This is so simple and easy. Anyone else doing this??? NEW Harrahs promo-up to 60000 Reward credits=$600.

We go to Atlantic City anywhere from 6 to 10 times per year for usually 1 week per visit (Monday or Sunday thru Thursday or Friday). My rooms and meals are always free (comped) and I have been doing this for approx. 10 years. I even receive these freebies in Las Vegas and casinos in other parts of the country.

Most people think one needs to be a "high roller" to receive these comps. I am NOT a high roller by any means and almost anyone can receive these freebies. Casinos (like most businesses) are looking for returning customers, so for the returning customer these freebies are quite easy and simple to receive, WITHOUT spending much money. I say "spending, NOT "gambling" so I will explain.

MOST people I see in Casinos "don't have a clue"!!! They are there to lose a certain amount of money and they are willing to do so and call it entertainment. I'M NOT, and neither is anyone in my family. My Mother & Father did this and so does my 2 sister's, brother, brother-in-law, mother-in-law and nephew. There have been some good segments on the "Travel Channel" about MOST people and there are a few shows dedicated to a frugal type visiter/gambler. Think Jean Scott, author of The Frugal Gambler has been doing this for over 25 years. Her home/garage is full of freebies!

Think everyone knows that Casinos always have an advantage or house edge. Some of the house edges like Keno for example is like a whooping 30%. Knowing which games to play and which to avoid is the real key. Anyone can "google" house edges/advantages/best casino games and really learn why most never win in a casino.

The very low (less than 1%) games are baccarat (think betting banker is 1.1% vig), blackjack, craps and video poker. I play all 4 but mostly 9/6 Jacks or Better video poker. Baccarat is sooooooo boring and the rules in blackjack are always changing, so I don't play these 2 very often. This game (Jacks or Better) pays back 99.54% or a house edge of .46%. When one factors the free rooms, free food, free cash, free shows and many other assorted goodies, my actual return is over 100%. I really don't consider this gambling! With this low of a house edge (.46%) it is somewhat difficult to lose much money. There are even several video poker games which pay back MORE than 100%! Betting the pass line and taking single odds in craps has a vig of just .84%, double odds .60%! Have you ever wanted a bet with no house edge? In most U.S. casinos there are only two, the double-up feature on some video poker games, and the "odds" in craps. I bought the "Bob Dancer" computer program tutorial a long time ago which anyone can learn. My 88 year old mother-in-law even learned it several years ago, sitting in the car back seat on my laptop, driving to Atalntic City. He explains, to drive a care one needs to learn and memorize 47 different things. To learn video poker, one needs to learn and memorize 42 different things. Simply put, Its eaiser than driving a car!!! There is also a web site (mentioned many times on the Travel Channel) which has free tutorials for this and other casino games. Don't think I can post it here but can pm you the site.

Again, knowledge is key BEFORE one arrives at a casino.

First, get the casino (free) "players card". By inserting this card into a machine or giving it to a dealer, this will "track" your play. Comps, simply are based on play. The more one plays (time wise and/or $ amount wise), the better the comps. Also, the type game one plays is another factor for comps. Most casinos require one needs to use their card just once every 6 months to continue to be in their mailer system.

I was just wondering if anyone else is doing this or something/anything similar?

    Thanks

I did this for a while at Harrah's Cherokee! The problem is if you stop for a while the freebies stop coming in the mail. That is where we are; we'd have to start going again to get the freebies again and it is kinda hard to keep it up with 2 toddlers that can't gamble and I refuse to put them in a daycare I don't know so I can play video poker:)

We loved it while it lasted though...it was a wonderful getaway for us (pre-kids) when we just wanted to escape work/home!

ok let me get this straight

Note: i live hmm 10 mins from one major casino.. and the really good hotel w/ rooms.. about 20 mins..

I like the free food idea and sometimes, just a short getaway.. theres more casino's up north..

so darlin HOW?? lol.. luckily, i rarely if ever gamble.. i used to go for the free coke a cola.. yes seriously..

the one game, i do like is Video Poker!! yay..
so i just have to learn / memorize 42 rules.. omg.. the memory has been fading...

so how much would i actually spend, and how much would i get in return?

    thks~

Yep, for the freebies one needs to be a returning customer, but for most casinos, just once every 6 months. Just like in my business, when someone doesn't respond to several of our mailers, we remove them from our customer base.

In the past the "6 month" guideline was usually the case. Not that way in Atlantic City (at presant). My brother who hasn't been since last February is going with me in 2 weeks and his rooms are comped for 4 nights.
