Never been there, but bumping for you. Have fun!
We live in North Eastern Pa, and will be leaving for Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin on Oct 1st. with a stop in Sandusky Ohio. we have our hotels booked already as the main reason for this trip is the Indoor Waterparks,as I am a single parent of 2 teens traveling w/ 4 teens (2 girls, 2 boys(must bring 2other kids as each other dont count as friends!) and i will add the 2 girls are special needs.
So my main questions are does anyone have any suggestions as to other things to do?, that isnt too scary? and also fun/ cheap/ reasonable priced places to eat? i was looking at the circus museum but apparently it closes at the end of sept. also what can we expect with the weather?
all help is appreciated.

Live in the south...Check this out:
I have been to both Sandusky and the Dells, so will think about it and post when I can. That is quite a long drive. Which water park are you staying in the Dells? The Great Wolf Lodge is very nice. Weather should be nice - cool but not real cold. The Dells area will be somewhat closed up as far as touristy stuff but the water park will be great.
ETA: In the Dells there is a Culver's - great frozen custard and burgers.
we are staying at the wilderness resort, then hopping to mt olympus, then finishing out at the kalahari . we are going to the kalahari in ohio also,
it is only a 896 mile drive to wi, so not so bad especially broken up w/ stopping 3 days in ohio..Ive driven straight through to florida and that is almost 1100 miles, and my ds says i'm nicer when i drive verses fly..go figure that 1
Sounds like you will have fun. Those are nice places to stay. Will you be coming through chicago? There is a great cheese store in Wisconsin that we always stop at when we go to the dells. I will have to figure out its name to tell you. I will be back with info soon.
I live in Wisconsin and I have been to all the water parks you mentioned. By Oct, alot of the outside stuff is closed, but the inside stuff is nice too and there are less people! The Dells is very expensive but it is worth it. If you can afford it, go on the Duck Tours, those are fun.
Enjoy your trip!
