We are all set for our cruise in mid-October - just need to book the hotel for the 2 days we are spending in Barcelona.

We looked it up and it seems the language there is Catalan and Spanish. Has anyone been there?

Can you tell me which language is more prevalent so I can looked up how to say, "Where am I?" and "How do I get to__" por favor.

Also, anyone who's ever been - what are the tourist places that you didn't like - and why, and what are the places of interest to make sure we don't miss.

Most people there learn Catalan at home and with friends; it's a regional language. Pretty much everyone speaks Spanish fluently as well, so if I were you, I'd learn the words you need in Spanish. Catalan is also much more difficult to speak, and there are fewer resources for studying it since it is not a widely spoken language.
