This is sad. We want to take the kids to see Mickey in a few years but I don't know how we are going to afford these ridiculous prices.

Happily, my husband had family members working for Disney the few times we frequented the parks, so they got us in with a pass. No way would I ever pay those prices.

No you're not!! It's well-documented here (and elsewhere) that I do not subscribe to the "every kid NEEDS...." way of thinking when it comes to spending outrageous amounts of money, just so that they can say they have or did something that "everyone else" has or does.

My grown kids never went to Disney. They don't hate me, and have never even mentioned to me that "it isn't fair" that their friends went and we didn't. They're perfectly well-adjusted adults, who aren't seeing therapists because of their deprived childhoods.

I am going to Disney in January, and maybe I am spending a pretty penny on our vacation. If you purchase a multi day pass, the price per day drops dramatically. If you go for 6 days for example, the price per day goes down to 39.33. Even that is a lot, but you are also paying for free transportation to and from the parks and resorts, and transportation to and from the airport.

I went to Disney as a kid 2-3 times and loved it. It is much more than an amusement park. It is an experience.
