Thats just for one park not all them...but it is worth it, the kids and us to always enjoy the days we have to spend there. We get the all in one pass which lets you get into all the parks and a lower rate. And the motel stay can be added in to save even more.

We all enjoy then family trips there and I would just a well like to go there as to anywhere else. Now days about any vaction you take will cost you this much so why not let the kids enjoy going while they are still young and have no worries. The looks on their faces is so worth it......This is comming from a person that save every penny she can and hate to spend them.

what gets me is the price of food and drinks, so we take a backpack with snacks and only buy one or two drink cups that can be refilled for like half price and use them the whole time we are there.

I am kind of sad that my kids have kind of outgrown Disney. We have gone every year since they were 3 and they loved it. We went last year and they had fun but I could tell they were a bit bored. Both kids love the fast roller coasters now which Disney does not offer. They did love the Rockin Rollercoaster though! Out of all the parks, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios is our favorite. We will probably go back sometime but next year we may do something different for a change.

Nope. I wouldn't even pay $30 to go. I didn't enjoy it as a child and my DD wasnt/isnt into the Disney characters and such. Price gouging @ it's finest!

The price hike doesn't really bother me. Although I certainly don't think the prices are justified. We live just over an hour away from Disneyworld so the expense of going once every few years isn't that bad. No hotel to pay for is nice. Plus Florida residents get a discount.

I went as a kid and enjoyed it....I'm 37 so I can remember the E ticket the first couple of times and I liked Epcot. I haven't been back since I was 15.
Not so sure that i'd really want to take my boys now tho'. the oldest is 14 and the youngest 9.
I really want to take them to Busch Gardens and we go at least once every year to Hersheypark (which at almost $60 a ticket is pricey) Thank God for the Pepsi and Giant deals for those, I can still get my tickets fairly cheap.

I'm actually opposite than most people. We went for the first time March 2009 and we are going again the end of this year. We LOVED it!!!

We lived in VA a few years ago and had season passes to Busch Gardens/Water Country and quite honestly, my kids didn't care too much for Busch Gardens.
We've gone to Hershey Park a few times and it is sooo not worth the money. I'd much rather take a nice vacation every 1-2 years and I think we are "hooked" on Disney World LOL

We're Disney enthusiasts. One of the reasons we pinch pennies so much on a daily basis is that we're saving for Disney World - our one main indulgence.

I think my parents used to hear the one-day ticket price and just thought we'd never afford it, so I never went as a child. Had they done more research, it may have been different.

Over the course of this past year, we actually went SIX times. We are within a 10-hour drive, which helps. (Flying gets expensive.) And we managed to get annual passes for ~$100 off each, plus an additional 10% off because of certain deals we were able to match up last summer. When you have at least one person in your party with an annual pass, you don't have to pay Disney's ever-increasing parking fee if you stay off property. (If you stay on property and want to drive - even though they have fabulous free transportation to the parks - you also don't need to pay parking fees.)

We had some great deals on lodging - never pay full price - EVER! We even got to try out some deluxe resorts (Villas at Wilderness Lodge & Beach Club Villas) for $120 per night by renting Disney Vacation Club points. Rack rates for Beach Club Villas when we stayed would've been $385/nt + 12.5% tax! We paid less than a third of this and still ended up within walking distance to Epcot, watching fireworks from our bed! (Renting points has, at some points, gotten us better deals in deluxe villas than we were able to get through Disney direct to stay at just a value resort!) We also spent weekend nights (which are typically more expensive) off property to save more money, only spending the cheaper weekday nights on property.

Though, if you really want to save, you can get decent hotels with free breakfasts for $30-40 per night with free transportation off property - just be prepared to board buses at specific times which may mean missing fireworks shows at night, or wasting over an hour on a bus ride while the driver stops at all the other hotels on his route, etc.

Because we knew we'd be taking several trips and had annual passes, we were able to get a Tables in Wonderland card for $75 which gave us 20% off at table service restaurants and some counter service restaurants. (I got the card, but family members who also were traveling to Disney with us split the cost. The card was good for up to 10 people in the party.) We learned to share meals with large portion sizes, eat breakfast in the room, drink free water, etc. to save money. We found some great deals to "live it up," like a three-course meal at Les Chefs de France in Epcot (where Remy comes to the tables) which cost only $16 with the discount card. And, when Restaurant.com had 80% off their gift certificates, for $2-$3 each, I got $25 gift certificates for House of Blues in Downtown Disney and a Bennigan's just outside of Disney.

When you really want something, you'll find a way to do it... as with anything else, do your research! Disney is very clever in how they set up their pricing... it may seem like a big cost if you plan one small trip, but your value for the money goes so much further when you take longer trips, or when you come back more often. They're hope is for people to keep coming back. Some of these people spend a fortune on merchandise- which I'm sure accounts for a major chunk of their earnings! Just avoid that temptation, and you can really have fantastic vacations!

(By the way, my Mom is now an Annual Passholder too! )

As much as I love disney I think the pricing is just ridiculous. The rise in cost during this economy is just wrong. The pricing is high enough and I just dont get it. The last time we went, we found it easier to sit in on one of those awful timeshare presentations. It allowed us to stay onsite at a discounted rate and enjoy 2 free tickets. i didnt mind giving up 2 hours of my time to save hundreds. Either way..they really need to reconsider their pricing.

Busch Gardens is much more reasonable than Disney. My parents live in Florida so we have been to pretty much all the parks. Even living in Indiana, we have had season passes to Busch Gardens 3 or 4 years because they were $50 for the whole year. If we go for Xmas and either at Spring Break or during summer vacation...it is well worth that price to go for as many days as we want. We bring snacks, coolers for lunch in the car, frozen water bottles, etc to save on food costs, too.

I have been to Disney 6 or 7 times, but only paid once and I used rewards programs to pay for most of that trip. My mom likes to get the tickets as our Christmas present when we go to FL to visit. It is a great experience for the whole family and there isn't a lot of big presents for us to haul back home when vacation is over. So, it works for us. I don't think it is anything that you "NEED" to do for your kids; but we have always loved it. Even though it is a sort of non-traditional Chrismtas type thing, it is spending quality time with the whole family and I like that a lot better than toys or other junk the kids don't really need, like more video games or whatever.
