Default Where to stay in Vegas?

DH is going to book a trip to Vegas for my 30th birthday I have only been there once before and we stayed at the Hilton which was ok but we would like to stay somewhere nicer this time. There are so many hotels to choose from. Which is your favorite?? Thanks!!

I guess it would depend on your budget. What were you looking to spend per night?

Most of the packages that we found last night were around $800-$1200.00 total including air and hotel for 3 nights. We just can't decide which hotel to choose from. I thought the New York New York looked kind of neat.

We always stay downtown on Fremont Street. The hotels are older, but still nice and much cheaper than the strip. Plus they have the free light show every hour. Also, any of the big names on the strip are nice hotels.

We went last Summer and stayed at the MGM. We did occur rooms without airconditioning they did help us out. I got an email just last week for $59.00 a night. I do not think that is to unreasonable. That is what I paid last July.

I stayed in the Aladdin which is now Planet Hollywood. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was half the price as several bigger hotels and right across from the Bellagio fountain. We could see the fountain outside the window from our room. There is a mall inside the hotel with a store that sold everything so we got souvenirs there.

Walking distance to: Caesars Palace, MGM, Bellagio, and many more big hotels.

Have fun!

The light show at Fremont Street is awesome!

We stayed at the Flamingo when we went. It is an older hotel, but it was still decent. We weren't looking to go all out. I would stay there again. The only thing that bothered me was Donny and Marie being plastered all over the side of the building.

Now, if you have money to blow, I would highly recommend Mandalay Bay. That place is friggin awesome. You can watch tv while your sittin' on the toilet. The rooms are amazing. I also found a sweet machine their that kept paying me.

I love the rooms at Venetian and Pallazo. 800 sq feet suites, however I only stay there because we started getting free mailers. Not sure what it is normally per night but if it's in your budget...VERY VERY NICE.

Tropicana is very cheap to stay at and they just remodeled their rooms, plus they have 24 hr buffet passes, so basically you get 1 free meal per day. Luxor is nice and Flamingo is ok. The one thing to remember about Veneitan/Palazzo, if you want to swim. There is NO SUN til early afternoon, do to the towers shadowing over the pools :(

I did not stay at the New York, New York, but I loved there lobby. It had so many restaurants and shops, etc in comparison to the other hotels.

We stayed at the Belagio(sp)...we had a view of the water fountains across the street from our room. It was nice, but nothing special.

I would probably try the New York, New York also if we go back again!
