Default Need Tips for Texas Vacation

My husband and I are going to Texas for our vacation. We will be spending four nights in Pearland (which is just outside of Houston) and three nights in Killeen (just outside of Fort Hood). Does anybody have any tips for us of where to eat or where to find coupons to make restaurants or attractions cheap. We are wanting to go to one attraction at Moody Gardens. My husband wants to go to the one pyramid that is of course $19 each and I can only find $2 off coupon, so please post if you know where to get a discounted coupon. We do have family living in Pearland, but we are staying in a hotel since we are bringing our two Siberian Huskies. We will be driving from St. Louis to Pearland and then over to Killeen. Any tips will be helpful.

We are thinking about investing in a travel cooler (cooler that you can plug into the cigarette adapter that keeps things cool) to keep costs down on snacks and drinks while driving. We are also planning on taking snacky stuff with us. All of the hotels we are staying at have free breakfast and I of course used coupons.

I actually live in Pearland. There are so many inexpensive resturants in town not to many places with coupons unless you want the Olive Garden ect. If you are for sure going to Moody gardens you can buy your tickets online with a savings of $3.00 but if your not for sure then print out the $2.00 coupon. We are in a very large city so anything you want you will find easily. Do you know which hotel you are staying at? I can suggest which resturants are close by with a good value.

We are staying at the La Quinta Inn in Pearland. We are arriving in town on a Thursday afternoon and are leaving Monday morning. Friday we are going to my husband's grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary, so we don't have to worry about Friday night. I know that one day we are heading to Galveston, but I don't know which day that will be. Any tips will be helpful. We do have family down there, of course, so our plans are sort of up in the air right now since we don't get to see them as much as we like.

They are correct it is hot also we had a lot of rain so the mosquitos are out so pack some spray. We went to Galveston Saturday and were almost carried away. You are staying on the Westside of Pearland off HWY 288. There are a ton of places to eat. We have a local restuarant in our area called Kelly's. If you want home cooking 1 meat and 3 vegetables, bread it is good food and my husabnd and I split a meal. If you eat somewhere like that late lunch you probably wont eat dinner. We do that alot when we are traveling. If you want BBQ there will be one across the street from your hotel pass on that one it is high and not any good. Central BBQ is on the same street as the hotel is but head East. It is way better and cheaper. Space Center is really a neat place, or Kemah has a boardwalk with smaller shops to wonder into and some resturants (they are pricey) We eat at Tbone Toms very resonable when we go. Many nights they have a live band and it is very family friendly.
Pearland has 3 Walmarts so if you forget anything you will be able to find it. Oh one other thing Pearland has a dog park located off Liberty Drive in our City Park. It is right around the corner where I live. In the evenings there are always dogs and people out. This may help with the dogs having space to run. Have a great trip.
