Drivng from London to Bronte county -seeking advice/tips My husband and I are planning a trip to England and will be there June 7-June 17.
The only London attraction I will be visiting in this trip is Hampton Court, the bulk of the trip is to be devoted to sightseeing the countryside. With so much choices in this historic, ancient not to mention beautiful country, the reason I choose Yorkshire ( specifically Haworth) is because being a long time Bronte admirer I always wanted to visit the place they came from, where they lived and penned their masterpieces.
We have decided to drive from London to Haworth in order to enjoy all (or as much as possible) the countryside has to offer. What will interest me will be stops at ancient churches, abbey ruins and stumbling upon scenery for which England country side is famous for ( an old stone bridge, a pond or a brook with hopefully a bench next to it, century old cottages, small villages that pass in a blink of an eye).
What I am hoping to see is what multitudes of visitors before me have desired to see in English countryside-quaint, ancient, historic structures and that singular scenery that only English countryside can boast of.
Please suggest what will be the best route to take- if it means my journey will take a detour and my drive from London to Haworth will take longer, that's fine as I have almost 6 days from when I depart from London to when I am expected back.
Thanks for your input
