| Camping in NC or SC beaches Hi....
DH and I just bought a new tent and we are thinking of camping around second week of June. We have camped in the mountains before so this time we want to try camping on the beach. We are looking at beaches in both North and South Carolina and we have no idea which one to choose... :hectic1: Anyone who has camped (with tents) in either NC or SC, please feel free to recommend any campsite We are researching Myrtle Beach, Wilmington etc. We are in Charlotte, NC and trying not to drive too far out
Thanks in advance!!
Cheers...

| Re: Camping in NC or SC beaches OOooh thanks, will check into that with DH We don't really need to be on the beach but as long as it's near enough to walk then, it would be perfecto!!!
Thanks soo much!
Cheers....

The campground also has a pool with a sort of water park area and a rock climbing wall, etc. so lots of things to do there still if you don't want to venture out. It's not actually on the beach but there are trails from the campground that make it a 15-20 minute walk I'd guess. |

| Re: Camping in NC or SC beaches Oh yeah.... we do! It would be even more exciting for my DH if the campsite has some sort of off road!!

| Re: Camping in NC or SC beaches I don't know if they still allow it, but you used to be able to drive out on the north end of Carolina beach and camp out. I've been out there before driving around at night and saw many people out with tents, bonfires, etc. This was a good 8-10 years ago, so not sure they still allow it. I always thought it would be cool to sleep right beside the ocean in a tent. Of course you have to pack everything back into your car in the morning. I'll see if I can find anything out about that.
Their is also Carolina Beach State Park. We take day trips there. They have small private beaches on the river side. We usually take plenty of food and drinks in the cooler, chairs, and lots of sunblock with our 3 kids and spend the day out there. They have camping, fishing, trails to hike, and venus flytraps grow wild there. Don't know about off road driving. The beach is a 5 minute drive.

| Re: Camping in NC or SC beaches Rent a four wheel drive? Not sure if it's cost effective. We would love to go to the OBX one day, heard it's gorgeous!!
