We go to Pirateland every year, for the most part. We are skipping it this year and not really planning any vacation. Its crazy but fun. Not your nice "quiet" campground, but we love it. The nightly Golf cart cruisers keep you entertained. LOL And the adults only hour on the lazy river is wonderful.

To the original poster - not sure if its so this year, but we usually had to make our reservations 6-8 months in advance...so not sure if you will find a lot available. Of course we have a motorhome not a tent. If you want to stay just a bit off the beach, try the KOA in Myrtle Beach, we stayed there once, it was nice, just not on the beach.
