Anyone been to Great Wolf Lodge? Looking for deals, ideas, and codes if possible!

So we're considering a one or two night trip to Great Wolf in Concord, NC this summer. We could get there super early since we're only 1 1/2 hrs away and have the whole day at the water park and then the next day too.

For anyone who has been there (especially the one in Concord), here are my questions:

Is it a better deal to get one of the inclusive meal packages?
There are about 50 restaurants within a mile or two of the lodge so should we plan to go out or eat there?

Are the weekends crazy crowded?
We could possibly go during the week with mine and DH's work schedules so I'm wondering if we should plan to do that?

Can you go to the water park the day you check out, after your check out time?
One of DH's co-workers says you can - just stay one night and go to the water park for 2 days but this guy isn't always a reliable source of info so I wondered if anyone else has done this?

Any codes for discounts?
It would need to be good for July or August - not sure of the dates we might go.

All other info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I haven't been to that specific one, but yes you can still use everything the day you check out, you just obviously can't go back into the room. I don't have any codes, but I bet you can sign up for their emails somewhere at their website. I get emails with special codes sometimes. They also have special on the website sometimes too.

We usually try to go through the week....we went on Spring break this year though and it was REALLY crowded. We won't do that again!

I haven't been to that one either but have been to the one in Grand Mound. We brought munchies and such and tried to just eat in our room. The food is a bit pricey but that is to be expected at a place like that. We went on a Saturday in February and it wasn't too busy. But that can vary from one weekend to the next I'm sure.

I have been to a couple GWL's but not that one. They are usually in busy areas with lots of other restaurants. We have never done the package deals for breakfast because my kids are young and one eats free (I think under 4) and the other one is pretty cheap.

Yes, you can stay there until the park closes on the day you check out. They have lockers and showers inside the locker rooms.

I have never been but my aunt and their family have been twice and stayed overnight. Both of the times they have gone, they have bought day passes for my cousins family (not staying in the hotel). I am not sure if only guests can buy day passes or not (my aunt always pays for my cousins family (her daughter and grandkids). It is worth checking into though if you live that close.

Only guests can buy day passes. It's their way of keeping it less crowded for the overnight guests.

I live like 5 miles from the one in Williamsburg Va and it is a great place. I would just keep calling and asking about the deals they change all the time. I have stayed for as little as 99.00 a night. I would pay full price just because I never have to leave cause there is so much to do there.

We stayed at the one in Kansas City (I think) during our year long RV trip and absolutely loved it. We were just wanting to go to the water park but front desk said it was only for guests and manager made us a great deal on a cool suite. So our RV spent in the night in their parking lot while we spent two days in the Water Park. I'd definitely recommend a weekday if that's a possibility. I'd highly recommend Great Wolf Lodge and we can't wait to stay at another one!
