| Re: Where should I go for a 10 year anniversary trip? Maui!!!!
DH and I are going in three weeks. Needless to say, I have spent hours looking at different websites and I can't wait!
If you booked early, and bargain hunted... you should be able to do it for 2500. Also, its HAWAII. No need to reallly spend a ton of extra $$ on entertainment... just enjoy it!

our honemoon RANGALI Island
If you can think of a paradise on Earth, that is it! I can still smell the air and hear the sounds ahhhhh, like it was yesterday, not 11 years ago.Snorkeling is awesome, gorgeous, absolutely stunning. We went in december, because it is a dry season. Food is unbelievable, and there is sand in the restaurant, so nice dress and no shoes required. It was truly unforgettable. Oh, yeah and the bathroom has no roof - so cool!
It was $2000 then and we were stationed in Italy, so we flew out from Venice. |

| Re: Where should I go for a 10 year anniversary trip? I went to New Orleans this March and fell head over heals with the city which is justifiably called "the most unique city in America". We stayed in the French Quarter and enjoyed morning walks and evening strolls in Palm tree lined Canal street admiring the famous wrought iron balconies and colorful narrow buildings not to mention their very charming street lamps, window shopping the beautiful art galleries, stumbling on the hidden courtyards of Nola, eating fresh seafood, listening to street musicians, taking a lovely ride in the street car viewing the beautiful Garden district..and we were there only for 1 and a half day with our 6 & 8 year daughters in tow. I didn't have time to see their famous over the ground graveyards/tombs or take a tour of any of the beautiful plantations or check out the museums.
I felt very safe walking in the streets,in fact with the kids safely in the hotel with hubby I took a solitary walk (around 9 pm) down Bourbon street ( had to see and experience it for myself even against the warnings of my good pious friends :) and had a very interesting time.

| Re: Where should I go for a 10 year anniversary trip? I would recommend a cruise. Fly into Miami or Port Canaveral and visit the Bahamas or Caribbean. You can stay under your budget because the room, entertainment, and food is included in the ship price. At the customer service desk they keep tallies on your expenses so you can check it at anytime. Also, you can visit the beach and enjoy the beautiful water.
Just remember if you go on a cruise or out of the country, you will need a passport. It is a really easy process and takes about 6 - 8 weeks for it return in the mail. I have found if you pay for this with a money order it cuts off about 2 weeks of delay time.
Let us know where you send up going. :)

We got them for everyone in our family when the changed it where you have to have one to go to Canada. Plus, DH has one brother that lives overseas and another brother is moving overseas in the fall. So, I just think they are a good thing to have just in case.
I love everyone's suggestions - keep them coming. We are still waiting on confirmation that we can get someone to keep our kids. If we can't get someone to watch the kids then I'll have to go with plan B. Hopefully plan B doesn't have to happen. |
