Anyone else - any other thoughts? Any travel agents on here?

We live in Knoxville but lived in Sevierville, TN for years, so I'm partial to the mountains. DH and I love to rent cabins, and of course there's always something to do in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Good restaurants, theaters, outlet malls, etc. Our most recently rented, The Arbor, was simply awesome! Tons of ambience, perfectly decorated with just the right amount of light, a fireplace and hot tub!! Very romantic. DH said it was by far the best cabin we've ever rented. We will be going back.... just as soon as we find someone to take on our 4 sons, lol!
In love with my wonderful husband!!
Okay, all those voting for cruises...can you tell me what is so great about them? What are the extra costs that we would need to budget for? DH is an introvert and he is not so sure about having to eat dinner with strangers and talk with them for 5 days. We are not sure we are cruise people, but frankly we have no clue if we would like or not. So, convince me. I'm still keeping Beth's idea in mind as well as Cali.
The trip may be a little up in the air, though. FIL may have to have brain surgery this summer (his doctor wants him to get a second opinion) and they are the ones who are going to watch the kids. I'm a little nervous that one small slip by the surgeon could be devastating.
oh man, cruises? destination, destination, destination! Your extra costs are going to be tip for all your servers, etc, and excursions..also alcoholic or soda type of beverages. Otherwise, shopping. My favorite ones we've done is a toss up between Belize & chechen itza (progresso). Disney is fabo hands down, but much more $, cancuun is ok..cozumel, merida, aruba (fabo too), st. thomas (fabo) san juan, merida, dominica...I think I remembered them all...ahh..the beaches, the sun, the service, the shopping..ahh..I wanna go now!
Right now there are all inclusive trips to Mexico, Cancun area and 30 minutes south at Grand Serenis through spirit airlines website.
Planes leave out of atlantic city direct to cancun
We just booked a trip for 5 in our family at $900.00 each all inclusive. 2 rooms because 2 of us smoke.
Check it out. It's cheaper than a disney trip!
Best wishes.

Some friends went on a Bermuda cruise a few months ago and absolutely loved it - said it was one of the best they had been on, and they have done several. I'm with you that I'm not sure I'm a cruise person though. What about Vegas? You can get some great deals and should certainly find plenty to do.
I think I would be way more likely to convince DH to go on a cruise than go to Vegas. And all I would want to do in Vegas is tour the Hoover Dam. Everyone's suggestions are great. At this point (due to funds), I'm leaning towards Cali or Savannah. But we would LOVE to go farther away than that!!
Well, we have finally decided on a destination. As long as we can get childcare squared away we are headed to Jordan! My BIL and SIL are moving there in two weeks and we can stay and tour the country with them. We think it will be alot of fun. Now I am going to need tips on overseas trips and what I need to leave with my kids since I won't be able to be home super fast in an emergency.
We also went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and had a blast. We stayed at an all inclusive resort so we never had to leave unless we just wanted to.
I am not sure exactly what city you are flying from, but I just picked Philadelphia. I searched on Expedia and to stay the same place that we stayed at for seven nights is right over $1000 per person for airfare and hotel.
It won't let me post the link, but look for Royal DeCameron Club Caribbean in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. So beautiful!
