| Re: We are going to new york, have questions. I do not know what is to do around there, however, if you go to maps.google.com and type in Waldorf Astoria and then click on the one on the left that is the listing for your hotel and then scroll allllll the way in on the map you will be able to see the actual names of places that are around there and then you can google what you found. I saw lots of cool things, restaurants and stuff. HTH

| Re: We are going to new york, have questions. You are required to have your daughter in a seat to get to the hotel. However, most car services seem to have them for a fee. You can check with whoever is picking you up (if it is not a carseatless friend). You can ride in a cab w/o a seat, although I don't know if it is legal, I know it is widely done.
If you decide you need to bring the carseat, there should be a sticker on the side stating it is FAA approved, and thus will fit on the plane. What seat do you have and how old is your DD?
I just got back from a week in NYC with DH and DS, but didn't do too much touristy stuff. Times Square area to FAO Schwartz is definitely walkable, a short 15 blocks and lots to look at on the way. Really enjoyed Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty. Ground zero is emotional, but currently just a construction site so not much to look at.
Let me know if you want anymore details. |

| Re: We are going to new york, have questions. My daughter is 3 yr, but is very tiny. She only weighs 24 lbs. I have a Britax carseat, which is very heavy. I will have to look and see is it has the FAA on it. Someone told me not to miss the natural museum of history. They of course suggested time square, statue of liberty and rockefella center too.
Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.
hugs,
Darleen

A friend and I are planning a trip to New York in April. Thanks for that tip I would have never thought about it! I've used restaurant.com here in California but didn't think about using it when I travel. THANKS! |
