Default kid friendly in Las Vegas

I know what DH and I could do for fun in Las Vegas, but I need some kid friendly ideas for cheap or free.

We're going to be at a tradeshow- and I know my kid will love that, but we have a free day and was thinking of a family outing for a few hours. Since Grandma and Grandpa live there, we've been to Lake Mead to feed fish and some ghost town thing.

I've heard about MGM, Flamingo and Circus Circus.

Anything else?

I've never been to Las Vegas but would be interested in hearing others ideas. Dh would love to go but I would need some kid friendly ideas as well. (Can't sit in the casino with the kids all day)

What are MGM, Flamingo, and Circus Circus?

2 Words: Criss Angel

Guess it depends on the kids age though, he can sometimes be not so kid friendly, I have 2 pre teens, and they LOVE him!!! I would also KILL to go see him live!!! (Not Literally)

I think Criss Angel would be a little much for a 3 yr old.

MGM has a free lion display, Flamingo has a bird display - penguins, and Circus Circus has a mini circus show - all free.

Sorry, didn't realize we were talking a 3 year old here!! I was thinking older kids!! Doesn't Siegfried and Roy have their animal santuary (sp?) there?? I think all small kids love animals!!

Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden charges admission, not sure how much. If your family is local there are many deals for locals, some are BOGO shows, if you are able to get a local's deal The Excalibur has a King Arthur type show that is kid friendly, went there with young niece and nephew recently. There is a large arcade at The Excalibur and also at New York, New York. Red Rock Canyon is not far outside of Las Vegas, just a few dollars car admission, but don't think a 3 year old would really be able to appreciate the scenic beauty, some steep embankments but also can be viewed completely by car in scenic drive. Have a great time!

If you walk on the strip at all, watch out for the free paper machines and smut peddlers.

Add Bellagio to your list - watching the fountains and seeing the Conservatory (sp?) inside
Mandalay Bay- has a shark exhibit/aquarium
Excaliber, Circus Circus - definitely kid friendly
Ceasar's Palace - watch the statue shows and they have an area with some fish - kind of neat plus the ceiling changes. Stop by the Cheesecake factory - Yummmm!
Paris -go up the Tower (depends on if gets scared easily - my ds would find it thrilling - little daredevil at 15 months)
Stratosphere- go up to the top
Venetian - gondola rides
Mirage- volcano eruption and the exhibit of the white tigers inside plus the aquarium/fish inside too.

If you are downtown at night - go see the Fremont Street Experience - that is neat for all ages.

Good Luck!! Have fun!! Also, be careful - there are drunks, rude, and crude people on the strip and downtown.

Treasure Island does a show at dusk where they actually sink a pirate ship..it is pretty neat especially if you have a boy. I'd take my 2 year old if we were there for sure.

Also if you can... hit the Coca-Cola Museum.. that place is so cool for all ages. The M&M place is awesome too (assuming its still there).

The other places I was going to mention like Belaggio... were these by another poster. We went downtown to the light show and didnt have any problems with the public.. but we went on a Mond., Tues and Wed.. not quite as busy.
