Tell me about your Disney Cruise!

Ok, my oldest child will start elementary school next year, so we wanted to go on a "big" family vacation before we have to start planning around school stuff. We just booked a Disney Cruise! Our first cruise, Disney or otherwise! I found the Dis Board and found other people going on our cruise, which is exciting! I feel overwhelmed with the amount of stuff over on that board and was hoping someone on here can give me hints/tips.

We are driving from TX to FL-our cruise starts 2/28/10. We will be applying for our WHTI cards within the next few weeks to get that knocked out, as our cruise will stop in Nassau and we'll need them.

Also, I am looking for some advice as to things to see/do along the I10 corridor for our trip back as well!

Oh yeah, I'm getting my mil to make our Fish Extender this weekend! Can you tell I'm excited? Especially since the kids are sailing free!!!

If you are planning to go to the Cay(Island) as a family. Before you go...buy some inexpensive goggles or masks, snorkels, fins sets for yourselves on summer clearance instead of renting them from the cruise line. We saved substantial bucks by not renting, we already had our own prescription masks.

How many days are you going? Are you doing the cruise/Disney stay combined? There are a couple of different plans/destinations..we've been 3 times, last Nov. was our last trip, loved castaway cay, but it's best for kicking back...the other stops were ok..as far as cruises, top notch all the way..excellent entertainment, food, etc., as far as destinations, personally once was enough for me..I prefer to see new places when I go cruising.

The over the door shoe organizer was great for us (my daughter & I ) -everything was organized & easy to see.
One thing I would do differently is to take dresses along for dinner -not necessarily long dresses-but I feel my travel agent didn't prepare me properly for this-dinner was more of a dress up event than we were lead to believe...
