New Orleans Ghost Tours

My husband and I will be in New Orleans for an overnight stay in a couple of weeks and I really want to take a ghost tour.
I've just quickly looked some up online and see the price is around $20. Just wanted to check if that was the standard price. Also wanted to know if anyone had taken a tour before and if it was fun.

When I worked at a hotel in the FQ, our concierge recommended Haunted History Tours, which I believe has several different tours to choose from. I'm pretty sure $20 is about the going rate now, but they may have other companies that charge less.
Sorry not to be much help, I've never gone on a tour myself, but nobody was ever disappointed when they came back from a ghost tour.

We took the Haunted History tour several years ago and it was so much fun! My husband was too exicted when I booked it, but he had a blast! If we ever make it back to new orleans, it will be on our list of things to do again. It seems like I had a coupon from somewhere for it, for a couple of dollars off.

A friend and I took a Haunted History Tour that "specialized" in Vampires about 7 years ago. I'm an Ann Rice devotee. It was phenomenal! We had a great time and great guide even though it was so hot that night you'd swear it was 1000 degrees. My friend was worried about being frightened but even she said it was great. It was not scary (no one jumping out at you or anything creepy like that).

It was run very similar to one I did in London (Ghosts, Gaslight and Guinness). They point out the spooky places where strange things have occurred and stopped at a "haunted" bar about half way through the tour for a quick pint.

Have a great time! I'm jealous--NO is my favorite place to travel to.
