Default New Orleans - need help with restaurants

We are heading to NOLA in a few days and I'm someone can help with some good but inexpensive restaurants. The cheaper the better. I would like some fried seafood, mainly oysters and the rest of the time things like sandwiches, pizza. Also I'm looking for cheap breakfast as our hotel (Marriott) doesn't offer free breakfast.

Cafe Du Monde for beignet's is a great cheap non nutritiust breakfast.
Stanlys was also a great breakfeast but a little splurge for breakfast prices.
Coops is a dive that was our favorite and incredibly reasonable.
New Orleans Scool of cooking was reasonable when you consider that you get a class drinks and a great meal.
I did find most of the restuarants to be expensive down there.

Thanks for responding. I'll look into Coops. The school of cooking is a little much with children ( I forgot to say that our 12 yr. old daughter will be along). We have been to Cae Du Monde and loved it although as you say it's not nutritious for breakfast every day.

I haven't been in the quarter in a while, but DH & I used to get po-boys at Felix's. They're pretty big, so we would split one.

Port of Call has the best hamburgers (served with a baked potato, not french fries)

For breakfast, there's a little hole-in the wall place called Royal Blend that is inexpensive. Great pastries!

We are back from NOLA, had to cut our trip short due to our car getting broken into in the hotel's garage and needed to get the window replaced.
We did get to eat at Deannie's Seafood and it was so good! Maybe not the heathiest (it was fried) but so... good. My daughter and I split the half-platter and my dh got a shrimp/fish combo plate. We could have all eaten off the half-platter and been happily full. Our platter had soft-shell crab, shrimp, oysters, catfish fillets, and crawfish dressing balls and a few french fries on the bottom. Not all fries and a little seafood like some places. You can google their menu.
I wish we'd been able to try more.

Wow, these are some great tips! I just stumbled on these and my husband and I will be in NO next month celebrating my 40th birthday!! I imagine there will be lots of food and drinks consumed, so the cheaper the better!
